Hi,
I am an Indian national with 12 years of senior management experience in United Arab Emirates(Manufacturing and contracting). I am thinking about applying for emlyon's fast tracK Exe-MBA program. I look forward to aspire better/bigger senior management roles upon completing the course. Kindly help to understand more about the employment possibilities after completing the program. I don't speak french but ready to spend good amount of time to learn the language.
Thanks

I assume that opportunities will be very limited if you don't speak excellent French.

Thank you Duncan for the reply. How about opportunities outside France? Do companies based in France recruit people from emlyon for those company's international operations?
While communicating with the alumni and college, I understood that more than 75% of its MBA graduates works internationally. Does it mean that students return to their home country due to lack of opportunity or they got placed internationally with the help of college career services?
Kind Regards

Lyon, Paris and Geneva are the main locations for EMLYON EMBA graduates. Generally, there is almost no on-campus recruitment for the EMBA. Career services are focussed on the full-time students, and those are the people who will benefit most from international mobility. EMBA's are more likely to stay in their country. Even for Switzerland, you will be much better placed with a programme in Switzerland than EMLYON.
Study where you want to work. If you want to work in France, perfect your French and take a programme taught in French in order to assimilate culturally and build your functional vocabulary.

One recommendation. one of EMLYON's sister schools in the Universite de Lyon federation is the ICLF (http://www.ilcf.net/). That is a good, and inexpensive place to perfect your French with wonderfully located student accommodation. I studied there. After that, you could study more or less for free at one of the IAE (http://www.iae-france.fr).

Thank you very much for the suggestions and informative reply. As you advised, Emlyon doesn't provide career service to it's EMBA cohort. But college confirmed that for it's fast track EMBA(full time 10 months program) career services are offered, same services that are offered to its international MBA cohort. My doubt is even if college offer such services, will company's be ready to recruit such 10+ years experienced senior managers? What could be the options to work in international sales opportunities, Consulting jobs Etc?.

I think you would have a reasonable chance of getting the same sort of jobs as people with your level of French in the IMBA. By European standards your age is not too unusual. But without perfect French I don't see what you can do in France or Switzerland.
On your CV I suggest you just say MBA rather than fast track EMBA. Will the school put you in the CV book?

Thank you very much for your advise. School will give access to participate in its recruitment events for fast track EMBA students. So i believe school will put my profile in the CV book. I totally understand the requirement for french language. I have one and half year time to learn french language. I hope i will be able to give good effort to develop decent french language skill.
As a part of the program college offers 9 month consulting project with leading companies. If i perform very good in the consulting project, can such project lead to full time employment contract?
I do have an admit from vlerick business school, but i feel studying in a class with appropriate age group will give lot of additional benefits. More over I heard lot of negative feedback about Vlerick's recruitment and visa issues post MBA. Does my decision for Emlyon EMBA over Vlerick make sense?
Your advise for the above will be highly useful. Thanks

I don't think that most students using your approach would be successful in learning the language well enough. Go to my profile page and follow the links to the articles on international placement and language learning.
