Dear all:
This is my virgin Discuss Board here. I am headache now in make decision to Select business school.
Please help me to analysis above two universities in detail. Thanks a lot.
My basic files are as following:
1. I work in Dubai as Project manager in MEP construction with 10 years experience and mechanical background.
2. Nationality: Chinese / GMAT score: 510 / IELTS score : 5.5~6.0
3. Purpose to Study EMBA:
Overcome some fault such like indecision.
Improve overall skills and knowledge including finance, marketing and operate management.
Enhance the English language skills
4. Carrier planning in future.
Works as Mature project management leader in Construction field.
I will stay in gulf region in coming couple?s years and go back to China finally.
Now I cannot make decision between SP Jain in Dubai and HULT in Dubai.
SP Jain in Dubai.
1. 18 months intense course/ reasonable Tuition / FT Top 100 in 2011, 2012
2. It is Indian school with three campuses and Australia degree. It has a good reputation (top 10)in Indian. Almost of professors, students, books even the cases are from Indian in Dubai Campus.
3. I think I can manage my time Since the course is intense
4. The slight issue is that I feels some difficult in understanding Indian English?s pronounce sometimes.
5. The Major issue is that the (Australia) degree of EMBA is not valid in China!!!
HULT international school in Dubai.
1. 24 Months very intense course / very high tuition/ FT MBA top 100 in past several years.
2. It is US school with very good international reputation. And almost professors should be top class as I heard.
3. The slight issue is the high tuition
4. The major issue is that the course is too much intense and I think It Is difficult for me to manage the time of study, works and family.
I am not sure all above is correct or not.
Please compare above two universities in different way basing on my situation and give me some guide to help me make decision.
The major purpose of study EMBA is improving knowledge and skills. Furthermore, It is better if the degree certificate is valid in China because I will go back to China in couple?s years.

SP Jain would be my choice. However, I don't understand how the SP Jain degree would not be valid in China but the Hult degree would. Hult has a campus in China, but Chinese students are not allowed to attend the Chinese campus.
Why are you looking at only these two choice? There are some good European schools in Dubai as well.
PS I'm not sure that Hult has a very good international reputation. As a private school owned by a chain of language schools it has great marketing campaigns. A large percentage of its faculty do not have doctorates (including the Dean at the main Boston campus), and some do not have masters' degrees. In terms of regional understanding, do any of the Hult faculty live in the Eastern hemisphere? I'm not sure what roots or connections they will have.

Hult Dubai is not a main campus. I don't think there are any EMBA faculty based there.

Take a look at http://www.find-mba.com/boardsearch/65/q/Dubai+EMBA London, Cass, Bradford and Strathclyde are all in Dubai with EMBAs. These are real, chartered, universities with world-class business schools holding accreditation by AACSB and EQUIS. Much more accepted in China.
Posted Mar 15, 2013 22:06
Okay, thanks,
As I known, Bradford provides distance learning only in Dubai. Strathclyde has local cooperative partner in Dubai. Cass EMBA focuses on Islamic finance. The London is very nice one. But I think maybe I cannot get the entry to EMBA of London BS.

I don't know where you got this information, but it's not correct.
Bradford offer an EMBA taught in Dubai. http://www.bradford.ac.uk/postgraduate/master-of-business-administration-dubai/
Strathclyde has its own operation in Dubai, and delivers MBA and MSc courses itself http://www.strath.ac.uk/business/internationalcentres/dubaiandabudhabi/mba/
The Cass EMBA does not focus on Islamic finance. Cass Dubai has a similarly strong core curriculum to other top EMBAs, and also offers EMBA candidates a choice between four supplementary elective streams: Entrepreneurship, General Management, Islamic Finance, and Energy. http://www.cass.city.ac.uk/courses/mba/executive-mba-in-dubai/course

Strathclyde BS may be is another option. I think the education in Dubai offshore center Dubai should be low than that in Glasgow UK.
Dear Gentleman, can you give some advice regarding the following three business school in Dubai.
1. SP Jain in Dubai.
2. HULT in Dubai.
3. Strathclyde BS offshore in Dubai.

HULT is very nice and best choice with high fees.
But basing on the my situation, the SP Jain may be is the suitable choice althought the dgree is not aviable in China and No network in China.
Please give commnets if any.

Once comparing the above University in Dubai, I forget the issue of fees, the ranking in FT and even the invalid degree certificate in China.
I heard from my college that the course from HULT is much more intensive than SP Jain. My major concern is that whether I can manage very well the time among work, study and family life.
Can anybody (current student in HULT) tell me how about the course?s intense? How many hours are required to spend on study off-campus every day?
One of Chinese current student in HULT inform me that the rate of time spent in course to time spend off campus should be 1:5 (time spent off campus is 5 time?s than that spent in course) in HULT every day.
And professor in SP Jain tell me that it should be 1:1(time spend in course to time of self study off campus) in SP Jain.
Who can tell me the rally fact regarding above rate of time issue.
This is very important for me to make decision.
Please give more detail regarding time arrangement between above two Universities.
I do not consider other university

hi,
I am also searching for the joining the MBA and now plans to join with XLRI Dubai campus, one of the prestigious institution in India next to IIM's . Last year the India ranking is 4th..!!
I think they are planing for a entry test during 23rd of this month.
The faculty will be 99% from XLRI jamshedpur..if you are looking for a real stuff of MBA you have to do XLRI.but the courses are much intense compared to SP Jain or any other institutes.

XLRI doesn't have a campus in Dubai. You're right that XLRI has great faculty, but their diploma is a collection of short courses in Dubai. What careers services will you have? Are th students taught as a cohort? You'd be better off going to India.

I accept that XLRI has got a study centre ,but the subjects they teach is worth even more deeper than SP Jain. If you check the linked in profiles of SP Jain Mba's vs XLRI MBA's ,the guys came out from XLRI Dubai are in Dynamic positions..The study methodology of Sp Jain and XLRI are almost the same...around 5 more core courses has to studied extra in XLRI.
If any of the recruitment officials google XLRI ,it gives a much value compared to SP Jain..

XLRI doesn't even have a study centre. The course is run by AIMS (http://www.aimsedu.ae/XLRI_Programs/Exective_Programme_in_Management/Exective_Programme_in_Management.php) and the lecturers fly in from XLRI.

Sir,
Sorry to debate with you,but need to clarify as you are expert in this profession. I have done my BE in Mechanical and having 9+ years of experience in Automobile and heavy machinery industry in sales. My plan is to do operations and strategic planning as electives. The XLRI dubai is offering a PGDBM certificate same as what they issue in India for EMBA in Direct XLRI.
I checked with my friends who has done from XLRI and they received the same certification. The alumini is also have got a strong network in Dubai as well as overseas.
I think while going back to India XLRI certificate will give me a better value than SP Jain.
Could you please verify my above statements.
