MBA IN India

Razors Edg...

I would argue that International accreditation is preferable for MBA programs in *any* country, since they essentially insure that a program meets specific standards. I'm sure that there are probably private organizations that do accredit MBA programs in India, but, compared to AMBA, EQUIS, and AACSB, you'd be hard-pressed to determine what actually goes into the accreditation process, and even whether or not they are legitimate organizations.

That's good advice. There are a ton of MBA providers in India - probably too many - and I think using verifiable accreditations is a good way to go about filtering them. Those 10 are all decent programs.

Only 1 yr programs in India are accredited by AACSB, AMBA, EQUIS. Go for top 1 yr programs from ISB, IIM ABC etc.
Placements statistics shows 200% pre MBA hike. International Internship opportunities are good.

Yes, I agree with that. There are quite a few accredited programs now in India. It wasn't that way a few years ago.

Hello,
I have the following profile:
BE Computer Science, Mumbai University, India
MS Computer science, USA
8.5 yrs of US software industry experience (all in USA from top companies)
My question:
Is doing an MBA in India worth it? As I have no experience in India will it help if i specialize in Finance? How much salaries should i expect by doing MBA in IT even from the best institutes in India

With your background—a BE in Computer Science, an MS in the U.S., and 8.5 years of experience in top companies—pursuing an MBA in India can still be worth it.

Career Shift: If you want to pivot to finance, an MBA can equip you with the necessary skills. Specializing in finance can be beneficial, especially in fintech, where your tech background is a plus.

Networking: An MBA helps you build connections in the Indian job market, which is crucial since you have no local experience.

Salary Expectations: From top institutes, starting salaries in finance can range from ₹10-20 lakhs per annum. With your unique profile, you might see offers on the higher side, possibly starting around ₹15-25 lakhs.

Overall, it can enhance your opportunities, especially if you choose a reputable program.
