Hello there,
Would anyone be willing please to share his/her experience from the CKGSB MBA study? I'd be keen to hear mainly your reflections on:
- Faculty and academic quality
- Teaching environment
- Consulting project opportunities
- Other non curriculum activities students can participate in
- Career options, especially opportunity to move into investment / private equity sphere?
Any other advantages / disadvantages would be helpful.
My ultimate question is would you recommend this school for the MBA study (full-time)?
Thank you very much,
UKC

Based in the capital city of Beijing, CKGSB's MBA program is well situated to analyze the practical realities of business in China, where commerce often intersects with politics.
MBA students study the role of state-owned enterprise as well as private companies and multinationals in the China market. Students also consider the impact of government policies on corporate growth strategies, both at home and abroad.

Thanks, Duncan.
Are you trying to say that learning Chinese during a 14-month full-time MBA at CKGSB should probably not be the priority, but there is a value in technical skills and network of the school?
Thanks for clarifying.

I'm saying that, while I don't know your career goals, I think most candidates are well advised to take MBA courses in countries where they speak the language. I think finding work outside China will be hard.

Because of your user name, I'm assuming you're from the UK, no? If so I would say that moving into these fields on the mainland would probably be challenging if you didn't already have language skills. Have you considered instead doing an MBA in Hong Kong or Singapore? HKUST, NUS, Nanyang, HKU all have decent placements into these cities' financial sectors. Just a suggestion.
