ACBSP Accreditation for Webster MBA

samratray

Webster U is accredited by ACBSP for all its Business Programs including the MBA.
Out of curiosity, do students in Thailand look for external accreditation? Also, if companies check the external accreditation while hiring graduates.

International accreditation is important, not because companies may check, but because an accredited school will provide a better education than one that's not accredited.

That said, I've never heard of ACBSP. When looking at MBA programs, you usually want to look at ones that are accredited by the three main agencies: AACSB, EQUIS, and AMBA. These organizations' standards are high, which means that only the schools that are worth their investment get accredited.

I'm not in Thailand, but personally, if I were looking for a program there, I'd look hard at Chulalongkorn University/Sasin. It's accredited by AACSB, and has partnerships with Kellogg and Wharton, which is a good sign.

I agree with Ralph, and I *have* heard of ACBSP. It is not a valuable accreditation, nor one to take very seriously.

Here is a good ranking of major Thai business schools: http://www.eduniversal-ranking.com/business-school-university-ranking-in-thailand.html Chulalongkorn and Asian Institute of Technology are by far the best schools.
