Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business (MSB) has recently announced the launching of an all-new MBA Certificate in Real Estate. This announcement follows what they have noted as "a growing interest in real estate among MBA students." Open to all kinds of students, the certificate promises to provide students with the required know-how to join the competitive commercial real estate job market.
Matthew Cypher, academic director of the certificate, has pointed out that "our real estate curriculum and activities are experiential, rigorous, and carry with them a connection to Georgetown's sense of purpose." The certificate comes as a joint effort between McDonough's Steers Center and their MBA team, who together have developed a program which includes input from varied sources, including real estate professionals and students themselves.
"As we continue to see growing interest among our students in careers in real estate, as well as a desire to focus on environmental, social, and governance issues within their studies, building upon the existing world-class experiences offered by our faculty in the Steers Center will only add to their post-graduation successes," said Prashant Malaviya, senior associate dean of the MBA program at MSB.
McDonough's full-time MBA program currently ranks 9th within the USA, according to the 2021 Financial Times Global MBA ranking, and 17th in the world—a steep increase from the previous year's ranking.
