Top 10 Best Business School Campuses

Despite the forced temporary shift to remote teaching prompted by coronavirus, MBA students are demanding more than ever in terms of teaching facilities. The pandemic has served to strengthen the importance of in-person interactions, and when students are at business schools they expect the very best facilities available.

In response, many schools are opening plush new campuses or renovating existing facilities, in spite of the growth in popularity of online education and financial constraints on their operating budgets during the pandemic. Recently, Spain’s IE Business School opened a new tech-based urban campus in the heart of Madrid’s financial district. The 180-meter tower provides over 50,000 square meters of multi-use space.

Elsewhere, the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh has opened a $201m campus building spanning 315,000 square foot. New York City’s Columbia Business School, meanwhile, is opening a new campus after receiving a $75m donation to fund construction.

One important factor for students is environmental sustainability, to reduce concrete use and source materials locally to reduce the carbon emissions of transport. We have looked at teaching facilities in a broad sense, not just buildings, based on ratings from current MBA students and alumni in wider business school rankings.

It is perhaps surprising that the highest overall ranked institutions do not necessarily score the best on teaching facilities. Of course, a plush campus is just one factor for prospective students to consider when weighing up which MBA programs to apply to.
