Looks like Harvard is changing up its MBA admissions essays. A few things to point out, if you're going to be applying to Harvard soon:
There are fewer and shorter essays. You used to have to write four essays (up to 2000 words, total.) Now, you only have to write two, at up to 400 words each, on these topics: 1. Something you've done well, and 2. something you wish you'd done better.
400 words is not really a lot (not even two pages,) so make these words count.
And if you're asked to interview, you'll have to write another 400 word essay within 24 hours of the interview, about what you wish you had said at the interview but didn't.
The round one admission deadline this year is on September 24th.

This might mean more focus on other parts of the application, like test scores and work experience.

I doubt it - I think it's more a way to streamline a process that's already very competitive. It's much easier to glance over two 400-word essays to get a sense of an applicant's qualities - and by the time they've written their third one a good percentage of the group will have been filtered out.
