Hello,

I am an BA student from Germany and I'd like to do my MBA in media (management).

Unfortunately I couldn't find anything on the net. Do you know any MBA programs in the US that would agree with my idea? Thx in advance!

Hi Harun,
There are some programs, most of them happen to be in New York, not unpleasant:
* Columbia Business School (CBS) (2-Year Full-Time MBA),
* Fordham University (2-Year Full-Time MBA),
* Leonard N. Stern B-School (NYU) (2-Year Full-Time MBA),
* Metropolitan College of New York (One-Year Full-Time),
* Southern Illinois University Carbondale (Dual Degree MBA / MA)
* Lynn University
Happy hunting!

Hi Harun,
I'm glad I could help you out.
If you want to do another research yourself, you can as well use the efficient search tool of this site:
http://www.find-mba.com/search
I advise you to use the keyword "entertainment" and "communication" - or other, depending what kind of a career you plan.
Good luck!

HI this is Dan,

I would reccomend Metropolitan College of New York MBA in Media Managment. Students from around the world research and go to this small school.

The Metropolitan College of New York, MBA in Media Managment.
4 reasons this school could be better than the big colleges! (1) Professor Stephen R. Greenwald, created the program. He has run movie production and distribution companies. Some of the films in which he has been associated include: Dune, Conan the Barbarian, Blue Velvet, Crimes of the Heart, Manhunter and Author, Author. He is presently CEO of Odyssey Pictures Corporation and teaches one of the classes.

(2) All students go to a free 12 day study abroad trip (free hotel, plane, transportation, film festival passes, seminars etc,) to Europe as long as they are students of the MCNY program. Destinations have included the Cannes Film Festival or London and Paris to learn about world media.

(3) The program is completed in one year, 3 semesters a year!

(4) I graduated from this program, and can tell you, It was the best experience of my life and I got hired for Sony Pictures the moment I graduated 6/2007.

I am a 2007college graduate with a degree in English.
But, I have only recently discovered my career aspirations.
I want to get my MBA in Media Management.
I have done considerable research, and found some great schools. I am wondering specifically about Metropolitan University in New York. Can anybody tell me if I can be accepted to this school without experience in the field?
It seems from the website that the school is specifically geared toward established industry professionals.

no... MCNY is very welcoming to all prospective students...

i have a bachelor degree in Human services & with no business Experience and was accepted into the MBA in Financial Services program.

talk to admissions counselor... i dealt with marc & patti

here is the number 212-343-1234 ext 2712- marc &
patti-2705

they were great! seems like MCNY understands that not every student has experience in the field... sometimes you need to gain that knowledge and experience... i think mcny would be a good place for you!

Hi Dan -
I am currently researching a possibility of going to MCNY for MBA in Media Management. Your review of the school is very positive yet I found a lot of criticism commenting on the low quality of students, instructors and coursework overall. I am interested in getting into the acquisition side of the motion picture industry. What are you doing at Sony and and the college give you that you found so valuable?

Thank you,
julia

The Metropolitan College of New York MBA program is a waste of time and money. I can't believe they are still accredited. MCNY accreditation cheapens all higher learning facilities with legitimate accreditation. It's a business, not a school. All they care about is letting anybody enter as long as they have money or access to loans. Don't go there, or better yet, go there and tour the "campus" and decide for yourself. It's nothing more than a rip off factory that will take your money and hand you a worthless degree that will not help you get a job. Check out mcnymba(dot)com.
