Great school. Good MBA program. Bad city to look for a job.
Better choose a program near bigger city.

Note that I studied my undergrad in wisconsin, I had great experience there but bad experience when doing job search in small town. Btw, U wisc strength is in engineering, not business.

Wisconsin is strong in both engineering and business (see U.S. News Rankings for both grad and undergrad). Their MBA Program places people all over the U.S. - East and West Coast, Chicago metro area with top companies. Most of their students don't look to stay in the Madison area at graduation. I know they are specialized in their program and that Operations and Technology Management is geared toward management consulting.

I don't think that Madison would be a terrible place to network and potentially look for work. The service sector is pretty strong, as is, contrary to popular opinion, industry (certainly relative to other places in the region - Detroit, etc.)

But getting an MBA in a particular place doesn't limit you to getting a job in that place. I'm sure UW has a good network for placements elsewhere.
