For an MBA in healthcare the same rules are applicable as for MBAs in general: Several years of work experience are exected usually, but admission requirements can vary significantly from one school to another. Therefore I advise you to do a thourough research.
Internships are not at all enough, usually, but in the US you might find programs without the work experience condition.
Work experience is relevant if it is in positions of responsibility - it won't help much to have worked as a nurse for instance

Hi guys,
I am also looking for an opportunity to do my MBA with focus on hospital or healthcare management in the US. Parag you have mentioned a list with universities with such majors in the States. Would you be so kind to send me that list?
But I am not sure if I should do my MBA in the US, Canada or somewhere else. It would be helpful to have a list with universities which have MBA programs in healthcare management in Asia, Europe and North America.
Thanks.
Frank

Johns Hopkins JUST launched their full time MBA program, and healthcare management is going to be a major part of that. Their medical school is so large and prestigious; I think the b school is hoping to capitalize on that. JH is looking to become a top tier school on par with Harvard/UPenn in the next few years, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to look into the program. Only down side: there isn't a class profile yet!

You have made an excellent career choice for yourself. Healthcare administration is projected to be one of the the fastest growing professions over the next few years. Getting a master?s degree in healthcare administration will prepare you for managerial roles in a variety of healthcare settings. If you are already a full time working professional, the good news is that you don?t even have to give up your job to pursue a MBA program as many top-rated colleges and universities offer this program online.

The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University has a very good Healthcare specialization. Many of the professors have a lot of knowledge about the healthcare and pharma industries as well.
