MBA for Entertainment

FilmJack

I am seeking an MBA program in entertainment. I have a J.D. and a B.A. in Cinematography. I want to pull together my artistic and business pursuits. Placement services and flexibility are key (an executive program).

Hi Jack - The obvious choices are USC, UCLA and NYU Stern. NYU Stern has a very interesting film-oriented MBA dual-degree with Tisch, but since you already have that cinematography background, you probably don't need to get another degree there. UCLA Anderson has a more well-rounded entertainment focus, and seems to place many of its MBA graduates in the sector. Evan

The location is the asset for you--think LA / NYC. UCLA, Columbia, NYU Stern. Even if you don't go to the top 20 schools, the most important thing is the network and these places alone will afford you tons of exposure. Your social skills are probably more important than the MBA in this case.

Agreed about location. That's kind of a no-brainer, though. Can't think of anywhere outside of NYC or LA where you'd have the networking possibilities.
