Dear all,
Please help!
I am offered admission to LSU Baton Rouge and UCONN under same conditions. And dont know what to do!
OK, let me tell you something about myself. I am an international student with 3.5 years of proffesional corporate experience and 28 years old. I am looking for pursuing MBA in Management Information Systems. So let me tell somethings about these Universities
LSU
rankings
USN #71 (declinging)
Forbes #55
WSJ regional recruting #7
students
average age 23
average experience 1.6 years
internationals 10%
At this university I can be a star with my experience, backgroud and can have a better chance to find internship/future job
UCONN
USN #79
Forbes #27
WSJ regional recruting #51
students
average age 27
average experience 4.8 years
internationals 38%
This university has a tradition and offers a great chance to find a job in corporate corridore between NY and Boston. But with many famous Universities around there (MIT, Yale, Harvard, NYU, Simon...) I don't know what would be the chance to find internship/future job as an international. Hey 38% are internationals, somebody needs to help them find them internship & job...
So Tigers of Huskies?
Any other comments would be more then welcomed, esspecialy from ones that are familiar with these isssues...
This is decision of my life since I already decided to marry my girlfreind :)
I have to decide in next 24 hours....
Thanks everybody in advance!

Have you spoken with your wife-to-be about going back to school?
Since, once you married, you cannot make decision on your own.
If you both fine with you going back to school.
I would choose LSU because I know that there will be less competition in southern USA compared to the northeastern side.
Also, LSU has probably better academic overall ranking (undergrad) compares to U-Conn.
I might be wrong about this. Please do re-check.
Also, another factor to consider, which area you would prefer:
- south: higher crime rate, hotter, slower business environment,
More things to do on weekends, cheaper (& better) BBQ ribs
- north: lower crime rate, colder, more competition,
Less things to do in conneticutt, cheaper lobster

Rhino thank u very much.
I am thinking in the same direction. LSU is my favorite because of higher possibility to find a job even though in south with higher crime rate.
At both universities I have full tuition waiver plus
graduate assistantship (LSU)
teaching assistantship (UCONN)
does this make any differences.
To be honest, as European UCONN is much closer to my life-style, but I might face big competition with top-tier universities in New England. As an international student this is a big issue for me, coming back to my homeland with only MBA diploma and 0 days of working experience is not that smart.
Maybe I am wrong about UCONN...
I don't know relation between teaching assistantship and internship.... I am not that familiar with American education...
Anyway thank you a lot for your response :)
