Low GPA

Could anyone tell me the possibility for me getting into an Ivy League MBA? I am from a top ten Uni in UK but with a lower second class degree with a GPA of 3.2, GMAT score of 710. I am considering doing a graduate degree just because of the low GPA.

Maybe. I'm familiar with Columbia because that's where I did my MBA - and I believe that in today's class your GPA and GMAT are on the lower end of the scale.

Fortunately, those aren't the only factors that Ivy League schools look at. A bit decider is your work experience. When I applied to b-schools, I had 3 years of progressively responsible work experience with a wealth management company. I was at the project management level but felt that my knowledge of business was inadequate for me to reach the executive plateau.

Others in my cohort were similar - between 2 and 5 years of work experience, and this could vary widely across industries.

So, the question is - is your work experience good enough? Give us details so we can know more and give you advice.

Of course, there are other factors, including how good your personal statements are.
