Fordham/CUNY/Pace

Anybody applying to business schools in New York? I am going to apply to Fordham, CUNY + Pace.

I am looking for insights about job opportunities after the MBA... Especially in the financial sector in NYC.

Why these schools? For NYC financial sector roles you should really be considering Columbia and Stern instead.

CUNY's probably your best bet, if these are the only schools you're looking at. It tends to place well in the financial sector, and is a bit more selective than the other two schools.

Why these schools? Well, I simply can't afford Columbia and NYU, unfortunately!

Thanks, ezra. I will focus on CUNY. Is it even worth applying to the other schools (perhaps as "safety" bets?)

Hi there,

I decided to wait another year to save a bit more money and explore funding/scholarship options. I'll be aiming at Columbia and NYU.

Got an admit from Fordham... but not sure if I will take it because the job prospects don't seem to be great. I got dinged by Pace and still waiting back from CUNY.

@vish1000 what do you mean by dinged? Did you not get in and did they tell you why?

Have you tried St John?

Also I am not sure why Fordham admitted you but PACE did not

I always think Fordham is a much more renown

Is St. John's as good as the other schools? I am confused, I want to study in New York City but I don't know which schools are good and which ones are not as good.

It depends on what you want to do after graduation. Check with the employers that you want to work for and see if any of their employees have MBAs from St. John's.

Generally speaking, compared to Fordham and CUNY: Fordham is probably the best of the bunch, since it has some rankings credibility. CUNY has some traction in financial services, but not as much as say Columbia or Stern would.

Hey, did you end up accepting at CUNY? I would like to know because I have an admit and I don't know whether to accept or to look at other MBAs.
