Hello, this is abhimanyu from jammu. I have just completed my graduation in bba from jammu university. been working with my dad,in family business since almost 3 years now. this is my part time work experience, i know which won't be counted much. but trying to make the picture clear so i can get some good suggestions. i have achieved 65 % in graduation and 7 band in IELTS. My application is got accepted in both manchester and edinburgh.
1. manchester business school - MBus ( Global Business Analysis)
2. Edinburgh business school - Msc in International business and emerging markets.
from my research. i have found , about manchester . The big brand name. the uni is in city, unlike other universities. + it's more famous among employers. the carrer services or manchester is very good. the course is really good for consultancy and manchester business school is been rated among top business schools in uk.
about EDINBURGH. its been improving very fast. the ft rankings and over all brand name of uni is been higly improved in recent years. one of my friend he did his msc from scotish uni, he said the problems he faced was while interviews.. when he had to travle from all the way from scotland to england. i tried to explore a lot between manchester and edinburgh. internet , talking to people who studying currrently and been passd out. few in favour of manchester and few in edinburgh. being frank, i m very confused right now. for me.. first importance is to get a job. please friends can u give me some suggestions between edinburgh and manchester , which course would help me to get a job in uk , because.. i even hrd that probaly in april 2011 the uk govt will cancle the PSW scheme.. and it would be of no point, going spending some Rs. 20 lac and then coming back to india and not geting a job. please suggest me.. which university would fit perfect to secure a good futre after masters. and would be a fair enough deal.
please suggest, its about my future and carrer.
regards.

Hi Abhimanyu. I would suggest you to have a look at the recent B School ranking in Europe. There has been a lot of shuffling within UK B Schools. I would suggest you to go for MSc in a more better univ than manchester and edinburgh as you are capable of getting admission in top 10 UK B Schools. Please have a look at the rankings (http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/european-business-school-rankings-2010)and let me know if u are interested in other B Schools as well since u have enough time for sept intake.

Disagree with the comment on better universities. The FT 'business school' rankings are not representative at all. Just look at where Cambridge are.
Manchester and Edinburgh are very good business schools for general management MSc courses. If you want a quantitative course, Warwick are very strong as are City (CASS).
Cambridge, Oxford & LBS are the best by a long way.

hey thank you very much for the information u provided.
all i m confused is.. would manchester would be better then edinburgh and , about the course MBus( global business analysis) . now that their have been so many up's and down in uk universities, due to PSW. i heard they are planing to cancle the PSW for international students. in case they cancle it, would it be possible to get a decent job in uk.
and please suggest if u know about any better university and better courses..
thank you.
