Why do UK universities run behind triple accreditation, when rest of the world including US don't give much preference ?Students who are willing to pursue their studies in UK give more preference for this whereas in US or any where else, it is not considered as a big factor. In elite group most of the schools are from Europe.......Is it perfect yardstick to compare B schools.....Any ideas?

Triple accreditation is a good way to verify that the school has high standards. It doesn't mean that a school with only AMBA recognitions would be any less in quality.
But it is important to check that your school has at least AMBA or AACSB accreditation.
W/O AACSB you need to have a big brand name like Oxbridge to convince recruiters in North America or that part of the world where AACSB rules.
AMBA makes your course look better in Asia and UK.
Not so sure if EQUIS makes a lot of difference but should help in European mainlands.
Having said that, it's always feels safer to be acceptable around the globe - triple accreditation does that bit for you.
But it's important to note that all American and Canadian schools have AACSB only while none of the Indian schools have any of these (except maybe S.P Jain getting a AMBA very recently). That doesn't take away anything from these schools. Accreditation is a good to have when you are not so sure about a school's acceptability amongst the recruiters. In UK where you are supposed to find jobs for yourself, it makes even more sense.

Point is no B-school like Harvard,Kellogg,Yale etc use triple accre as a selling technique to market their MBA programs...It goes based on Branding, quality and reputation of the institute.Where as in UK triple accre becomes a big selling strategy.........Tricky!

Be it USA or UK...the big shots need not advertise based on accreditation. In fact, you'd hardly find any advertisement at all from B-schools already having a high brand value; they already get too many applications than they would want to handle. But if a school is not already branded so high and it's name is not that well known how does it make its name known to the world around? Triple accreditation is one such tool.
In USA, no one cares about what universities in other countries are doing...they won't consider you to be top grade even if you graduate out of Insead. Hence AACSB is all that matters to them...they won't care about AMBA (British) or EQUIS (European) recognitions.
It's a more a question of attitude and not necessarily a trick.

Triple accreditation ensures that you are going to a school, which has one of the best MBA curriculum and it is being reviewed by the authorized people having better knowledge in the field, and it is at par with industry requirements. What is important while selecting a business school is what you expect from the school and what you want to achieve in your career post MBA (career progression in the same field, change of career, change of country, change in portfolio, increase in salary, upgrade knowledge, improve networking and so on). some schools may be superior than those having triple accreditation but do not prefer to obtain this certification (which is most unlikely in todays market). I have seen many companies having no certification but still performing better than ISO, BIS or BVQI certified companies. Quality of the school can be best judged by its certifications if you have no idea about the particular school.

MBA accrediting bodies have different parameters to judge the B School. But one should look for the program and course content offered by the B School first and then look for accreditations.
