I have always wanted to pursue a career in management but I have always got cold feet in pursuing this. I am a senior lawyer in the legal department of a large French IB and have been doing very well.
I am seriously considering the Booth EMBA but the 100k investment scares me also because in practical terms
I don’t see the career uplift this could give me - Will I pursue senior roles in structuring?
Many thanks
ROI with Booth EMBA as senior legal counsel

I think you should focus on career goals more clearly. Booth probably isn't the best choice for you.

I quite agree but in fact that’s the bit I am struggling with. With an EMBA, I could move to structuring for sure and in a relatively senior role.
Why would Booth not be the best choice? Is it because their alumni network is not so strong in the UK? The easiest option in terms of days away from the office are Cambridge Judge and LBS but their executive MBAs are lower ranked than Booth.

If you view the MBA though the lens of the number of days away from the office, then are you really looking into the differences between programmes and outcomes? Booth will be less well known in France than many inferior European schools.
Take the time to think through on career strategy and look at the qualifications held by people in your role. Perhaps the IE/Northwestern LLM or the ESCP EMIB is the right option? Don't assume that a French audience will value a US EMBA more than a local alternative.

Thanks a lot Duncan. I should have clarified that I work for the London branch not the Paris branch and that I want to stay in London career-wise.
I am trying to build a business case with my management and suspect that 1 week out every 5 might be a tough sell. In terms of programme, Booth seems to be the most solid with a very rigorous no-nonsense curriculum.

The Bayes evening degree could work. The LBS EMBA is, what, 12 Fridays in the first year?
