As per the recent FT 2021 rankings LUMS has entered into the Top 100 list.

Just curious to understand their growth in comparison to Edinburgh MBA.

LUMS has been above Edinburgh in most MBA rankings in the last 20 years. I suspect Edinburgh leaving the ranking is about the programme's small size: you need a minimum number of responses to be in the FT ranking, and Edinburgh's MBA is kept very small. Edinburgh has been teaching management for a long time, but its business school is only around a dozen years old.

In the most recent years that the two have been ranked at the same time, Lancaster grads have had a more substantial salary increase but less overall salary. Lancaster has also had better overall employment statistics.

It tells me that the school recruits younger, less experienced candidates and places them into less senior roles.

It's a very strong school for management research, especially in marketing. You can see from the FT data that it's not a great choice for placement into consulting. Career switching is much easier in a programme with many projects and internships: that's not the LUMS MBA.

What kind of consulting?

It would be stronger in the UK than the rest of the European job market. But a higher ranked school (even Durham) would have a better network in most companies that hire MBAs.
