How is this ranking given?
Answer: The data is collected by an Auditing Co. Ranking is done by a publication after the in-house analysts study the data & grade the B Schools on a comparative basis. Read the ranking methodologies.

Hi Blueblaze,
Seems you got offended with my post. I was referring to MBA rankings from Economist and FT.
Economist : Nottingham 93
FT 100.
These are for 2009.
How have u ranked in ahead of Aston and Durham, was my question.
This is what I wanted more details of. If there is any other ranking that i am missing out on?

Offended???!!? What rubbish! Chill bro...I was just horsing around...lol!
Rankings as per FT:
1. Durham's MBA ranked as 31st among all the European programs in the yr 2008*
2. Nottingham's MBA ranked 24th in the same ranking.
3. Aston's MBA didnt receive any rank!
4. Bath's MBA ranked 23rd.
Source: http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/european-business-school-rankings
So as you can see: its Bath>Nottingham>Durham>Aston.
But I ranked Nottingham (& Durham) higher than Bath since both being England have a better recognition than Bath which is in Wales. After all you ask as per recognition and quality not ranking right?!
I think I have answered your query.
As far as ranking goes...well you r not missing anything...FT & EIU are the credible ones...the catch lies in reading them closely rather than merely viewing the numerical rank on the left!

Hey guys,
Lets not be offended....Its a discussion....Every one has the will to put in his/her view points.....
Can you guys put light, why is Leeds Business School not been talked about....I am planning to go in Leeds....I went through the curriculum of the MBA's offered by all these universities and found that Nottingham, Bath and Aston are focusing more on Finance, whereas Durham and Leeds are spread all over.....I want to do my MBA in Human Resources.....
What option should I go for???

Hi Tan12..
How long did Aston take to respond to your application. Its been sometime for me, and have not received an interview call yet. I am of the same opinion to go for Aston or Leeds. I already have an offer from Leeds.
Did you manage to get in touch with any alumni from Aston yet? What is the feedback?
Also, Durham gets triple accreditation this year. So need to look at it wisely.

saurabh,I gt my offer withn 3 weeks nd As compared Aston much better than Leeds-Rest is yours opinion.Aston has been branded not only n u.K but In U.S.A also.Post grads frm aston are preferred more n the market as per the studies.Nopes I have not been in Touch with any alumni bt wld b soon,

Well I am of similar opinion on Aston. I like the proximity of the city to London, and the place houses quite a lot of financial institutions.
Did they have an interview?
On a separate note, I came across a disturbing note from one of the alumni of Nottingham. He completed his MBA during 2005-2006, at the time when industry was at a high, and says you should expect close to 22, at most 25K pounds a year after an MBA. I am really not very sure about this fact, but if its true, it makes the whole MBA look rather weak.
Does someone have more information regarding this?

hi
I plan for Leeds also. keep waiting for some comment
I got offer from Bath, Aston, Leeds; all of them are my wish list. I tend to choose Leeds because FT rank > Size of city > cost of living. (I hv never visited the UK before, I hv only internet base knowledge)

hi, i do hold an offer from bradford but not willing to pursue it. My reasons are not great but might help. There is a good slide in the ranking of college during last rankings. Also, i have heard of not finding a great batch mix there. I am more keen towards an international experience. The last reason is the city. I have not had good feedback about the Bradford and so planning to avoid it. I do not want to discourage anyone going there as this is personal decision:) feel free to comment.

Hi Saurabh,
Thanks for the post. About the batch mix, it is good point.
But wat about the course quality compared to others?
wat about qty of staff and students?
I really don't mind city or sorroundings.
About the tripple accredition, Bradford is in the process of getting AACSB.
I didnt understand what this means "There is a good slide in the ranking of college during last rankings"
btw, even I am waiting for reply from aston. but I never seriously thought abt bath or nottingham before.

Well, the rankings for bradford dropped sharply in FT, and Economist ranks are also pretty down, compared to the other business schools mentioned.
Same here, I have also not applied for Bath or Nottingham, as I was keen on the other business schools namely Leeds, Aston or Durham.

Its Good that Bradford is gng to acquire AACSB accredation aslo.
Wel ppl says Ranking doesnt mean so much also...!!!!
Aston nd bradford are considerd equal,nd vn glasgow also,Th important factor is ROI which shld cm back to u early as to repay the bank loan sooner.wht u ppl say?

That's correct. Also we should get a post-MBA job, very soon and in this economy. So the recognition also matters, IMHO.
Bradford is in ft ranking for last 8-9 years. So it shows a consistent performance than the others. And leeds ranks highly than others. But many have got a better impession about aston and nottingham than say bradford or leeds.
As a university, I believe nottingham & bath are far better than bradford. But when it comes to MBA, I am not sure how these universities are seen by UK employers. Also the teaching quality where nottingham scores high and the students also matters.

Hi
I am a new entrant to this post. Found quite useful opinions here.
Can anybody throw more light on Bradford vs Aston vs Strathclyde? Which will be a worthy place to invest time & money both looking at the outcomes?
