Executive MBA / Flexible MBA

Hi,
I got 11 years of experience as IT programmer (Senior consultant ). I am in UK for past 6 years and am doing freelancing as IT Programmer. ( Most of my experience is in IT Consulting )

Doing MBA is my dream. ( Can't afford to do full time MBA - due to time constraints, so looking for either part time MBA or Executive MBA )

So what my goals are -
1. To work in Consulting - Grow in hierarchy in Business Analytic division .
( my past 5 years of experience from Data Migration (not data science both are separate)

Negatives -
1. My academics are not great with 53% only in my engineering (from India)
2. Working as IT contractor in UK for past 6 years ( it means that I have worked for client as less as 3 months , so got many projects under my belt in different sectors ranging from retail, Pharma, Utility and Govt. organization )

Advise -
1. Which business school is best for me ?
2. Do I need GMAT to justify my quantitative skills ? If so what score range is competitive/c
3. Working as freelancer or IT contractor in UK will that affect my application ?
4. Can I take any short courses which add more value to my application ?

1. Your goals seem modest: to move up the hierarchy. Any accredited MBA can do that. Most people in those roles won't have MBAs. Alliance MBS; Cranfeld; Henley; Lancaster; OUBS; and Warwick seem like very good fits.
2. No, you need the GMAT to show your verbal reasoning and acuity. Over 600 should be find for the part-time MBAs at these schools, but 650 would be better.
3. You'll need to think about who your referees will be.
4. A classic choice would be the LSE diploma: https://london.ac.uk/management but look at the short executive education courses on offer: consider it a test-drive of the school. https://www.cranfield.ac.uk/SOM/Open-Executive-Programmes/Growing-Businesses/Finance-Fundamentals-for-Growing-Businesses https://www.mbs.ac.uk/study/executive-education/programmes/strategy-essentials/

Thanks Duncan. Your response is point and point and addresses all my questions. Much appreciated. I will start towards that direction now. Only thing i missed to mention is my long term goal.

As told earlier MBA is more of my passion rather than career option but if it complements it well and good. Long term goal is to form a company which give Data Analytic solutions. Again I was looking at Imperial and Cass initially but don't know whether they address my goal .
