Hello Everyone,
I am currently holding offers from both Durham and Strathclyde for a distance learning MBA , Durham seems to have higher ranking in online MBA's , however, Strathclyde seems to have a higher ranking as a business school in general.
I have been working in oil and gas for 8 years so which program would be more beneficial ?

If you work somewhere that Strathclyde has a study centre, then I think that would swing it for me. If you are in the Gulf, especially, it has a great alumni network. Elsewhere, I guess Durham is a bit safer. Certainly neither is a weak option.

I am not from the Gulf ,I am from Egypt, and there are no study centers for either here, But what about if I want to relocate to Europe , and what do you mean by the word "SAFER" regarding Durham , Thanks

That's an excellent question. maybe it's not safer! This is what I mean.
- Strathclyde is a long-established MBA. It's a very good business school with a strong presence in the Gulf and the far East. It can't get much better. It's part of a good but not rich parent university.
- Durham is a school that's expanding fast. It's part of an old, rich, elitist British university. It has already become the equal of Strathclyde in the MBA market, and is still rising. Other things being equal, the Durham brand is better, especially in the UK where it's on a part with the other schools that rejected Oxbridge undergraduates go to: like Bristol, Edinburgh, Imperial and St Andrews. I think it has a brighter future than Strathclyde.
