P.S: Geez, I am starting to sound like a career counsellor...
Read Financial Times, my friend....
Hmm, not sure what you are implying exactly. I presume you are referring to the bearish views that the European and US economies are in for a slow and painful recovery. I can't give you a definite answer on this because hardly anyone can be certain at this point in time. However, what I know is the market continues to be positive and enthusiatic on the strong growth in Asian emerging markets like China, India and even Indonesia and Singapore.
If jobs are going to be impossible to find in UK in 2 years times, Asian graduates from UK schools can go back to their home countries with valuable foreign education and experience. I pretty much believe the NEW WORLD ORDER is in our favour. Cheers to Asia.

Hi Nes,
How'bt some pointers? Is there anything in particular you have read that gives us an idea of what to expect in UK economy for the coming couple of years?
Would appreciate your help.
Thanks
Anirban
26th Jan 2010 onwards UK is out of recession, growth improving and jobs are increasing...many friends of mine (including me) from Asia have offers to start job/internship from summer'10...read FT/Economist...all you need is a good profile/cv, good grades, good b school and good job application...as you see the word 'good' is all that is needed...All the best.
Cheers!

Aha! Just the bit of news that I needed to re-instate my decision to choose a UK B school over one in US (the decision was based on multiple factors though).
Thanks a ton!
Here's to a great future for all business students in UK.
Cheers! :-)

Hi,
It took the admission office one week to confirm my application and send it for consideration. It took another one week for them to send me an invitation for an interview. After the interview, the office offered me a place on the programme within one week.
But all these happened in Nov/Dec 2009. I believe they should have more applications to deal with now and may take longer to get back to you.
Good luck and all the best in your application.

Hi
Durham must have sent you a doc that specifies the kind of questions that they will ask. All questions will be on topics from that list. Mostly revolves around why you want an MBA at this juncture, justification for your choice of Durham, details about your professional experience and employers. Mostly further justification of what you have already included in your application.
All the best!
Thanks
Anirban

I wonder how Durham is affected by this event...
UK universities to slash jobs
05:55 AM Feb 09, 2010LONDON - Universities across the United Kingdom are preparing to axe thousands of teaching jobs, close campuses and ditch courses to cope with government funding cuts.
Other plans include using post-graduates rather than professors for teaching and the delay of major building projects. Vice-chancellors and other university staff condemned the funding squeeze as "painful" and "insidious".
The cuts are being put in place to cope with the announcement last week by the Higher Education Funding Council for England that £449 million ($996 million) would be stripped out of university budgets.
The University and College Union believes that more than 15,000 posts - mostly academic - could disappear in the next few years.
The chairman of the Russell Group of elite institutions, Professor Michael Arthur, vice-chancellor of Leeds University, warned that budgets would be further slashed by 6 per cent in each of the next three years.
The savings envisaged include more than 200 jobs losses at King's College, London, around 150 at the University of Westminster and, unions claim, as many as 700 at Leeds.
Higher exam pass marks will be required to win a place at university, according to the survey of academic principals.
The vice-chancellor of Southampton, Professor Don Nutbeam, said: "This (decision) is one of a series of insidious cuts that have been made to higher education."THE GUARDIAN

Hi,
I did not received no such list. Perhaps I will receive it at latter stage. Regarding my application: I applyed more then a month ago so I think they need around good month for each application (on average in this time).
Cheers,
BB

Just kidding :-) no issues!
Anyways, you must have received a mail that invites you to the interview. You should have a couple of attachments in that mail and they explain everything about what to expect and why they conduct the interview.
Thanks
