Choice of MBA university

Ranee

Hi All,
I have been working for more than 14 years and have kind of reached a saturation point. I am looking to advance my career by doing an MBA.
Have received offers from the below schools:
1. Strathclyde with scholarship
2. Durham with scholarship
3. Birmingham without scholarship
4. Aston pending acceptance
5. Sheffield without scholarship
6. Queen Mary University of london pending acceptance and without accreditation
I am looking for a course that is definitely value for money. Anyone has any advice on which school could be a better bet for me since I am studying after many years of working?
Thank you.

Hi Duncan,
I am going to get this MBA with the view of improving my career stand. Been stagnant for a while and job options are limited with my current position. With this degree I hope to be able to apply to more industries and improve my position. In a few years time I wish to pursue my PhD in either strategic mgmt or another area which I may have interest in while doing this course. Thank you

I think you need much more specific goals. What role? Which industry? Which country?

Hi I do not have a specific industry in mind but I am looking for a good degree at a good school. More for roles in strategy which I am good at and also entrepreneurship. Will look for a job in the UK post grad failing which I will come back to Asia to look for a job.

Strathclyde is better, by far, for employment and international mobility. However, I worry about your lack of clear career goals. None of these are likely to lead to roles in strategy consulting or entrepreneurship.

usually, if a school gives you scholarship, you can go to a better school (see info about this on duncan's profile)

If Durham gives you scholarship, you can try for an ever better school. Warwick maybe?

Hi I found Warwick a bit too expensive and I did not have time for Gmat when I applied for the schools. I have yet to confirm to which place I will be joining. Reason for not having clear goals is because I have worked in different industries doing different things hence the challenge in finding a job. I am good with strategy and may even move into entrepreneurship. Thank you
