Hi Friends,
Can any of you please give me an idea about the Bradford Test. What is the pattern of the exam? The practice test which they have given doesn't seem to be like a B-school entrance test.. its more of a primary school test...
could you please guide me.. where to study from?
Thanks

Bradford test consists of 2 parts
1) Data interpretation ...something in order of solving question raised against PI charts ,bar graphs , population index etc .
2) Reading comprehension ..the typical passage and questions
Thanks

Hey,
Thanks for this valuable information. I just have one more doubt- How do they confirm the Integrity of the marks obtained in this unsupervised test.... Is one xpected to undergo a similar test.. when one joins the B-school or what?

Hi ,
I felt the exam is more or less similar to GMAT . ..Marks are not dependent on how many you attempt , but on how many you answer correctly and on the complexity of questions you solve in each section + time factor......For me the reply was stating that i did average and compared my result as to "what % i am good compared to others..."...
Re: Unsupervised test....not sure why you have asked that question...supervised or not ...they expect candidate to write the exam since whole idea is to see if we are suited to solve the similar problems in MBA:) :)...my advise is to not to take a chance on this, since if they ask you to write the same test before you join (as you said.)....Its trouble + insult :) :)...If not bardford there are many other schools.....
cheers

can anyone give details on Bradford interview?..What is the conversion ratio?
Posted Apr 26, 2010 05:50
Very basic questions like
1.What makes you to choose their MBA program?
2.What can you contribute to their MBA program? For example what was your field....strategic mgmt, operations etc...
3.May criticize your written test performance...
4.Brief introduction about your work and academic details etc..
This may last upto 20 to 25 mts...Try to speak in speaker phone..So that you can relax and take more time to think...It will be a casual talk...

Hello Guys,
I have offers from Birmingham, Sheffield, Bradford and Aston.
I have decided to go to Bradford for its reputation and discipline. Aston is costlier then Bradford but Aston is triple accredited, so will be Bradford in an year.
Aston is also better in terms of location, but I have no plans to settle in UK. I shall be going to Canada for work.
One can ask, if you want to work in Canada then why not study in Canada. I chose to do MBA from an UK University for its one year program. I do not want to stay away from job market for two years; and Bradford's MBA is more reputed compared with many Canadian Universities.
For all the IT and non-commerce people from India: Please don?t bother about the ranking of the University. What should matter us is, how quick and how well we can learn management techniques and how agile we are.
All the best to all.
People who are going to Bradford can mail me on [email protected]

Hi,
I am planning to go for Bradford MBA Sept' 2010. Can you share your experience by answering a couple of questions:
1) How are the studies? and teaching faculty?
2) How is the place to live in?
3) Is MBA from Bradford worth the money or for that matter any other UK universities?
4) What are the job prospects?

In terms of recognition in India, Birmingham steals the show simply because of its age and research contributions in various fields. When it comes to pure management studies things might be a little different...but keeping in view the location advantage I'll keep Birmingham ahead of the others.
I second that.
Birmingham is the only university in UK that's got its own train station in the campus which makes the campus just 5 minutes away from the city center. Birmingham is one of the oldest business schools in UK and its a part of the Russell's Group of universities. The city of Birmingham is the second largest city in UK and I can assure you that its got a lot to offer.

Birmingham and Bradford are a lot easier to get into as compared to IIM's, SPJain etc. but universities outside India give you good global exposure which can be a very big plus point while applying for a job. I am not sure on how to compare these universities (IIM's vs UK institutes) on academic basis as i have not attended any of them as of now.
Considering the current economic conditions it should be pretty hard to land a good job in the west. Things seem to be getting pretty bad for UK & Europe with Greece's debt crises and Europe is up for bigger trouble if the crises has a major impact on Spain and Italy. The US markets seem to be recovering but landing a good job is still pretty hard.
But a degree from any of the UK universities mentioned above is a good investment and should get you good job prospects if not now but at-least is the near future.

I completely agree with fre3ze. We can not compare IIM's with UK MBA. The primary reason is International exposure.
UK Universities prepare student for general management, unlike Indian University which asks students to choice the specialization at the very begining.
If someone is pursuing MBA from UK, then by the end of the course, he/her will have knowledge about every aspect of Management. This makes a person agile to move into any role. But, as an MBA aspirant, one should have clear focus on long-term ambition.
Management is lot about soft-skill, and UK universities give great importance to this. Indian MBAs are very quantitative (theorys and numbers based).
Bradford has winter internship which is not offered by SPJain. This internship tech more then the University itself and a very big plus to showcase as real time Management work.
Even the teaching pedagogy is very very different between UK MBA and Indian MBA. UK MBAs are practical oriented were as Indian MBAs are theory.
We can not compare MBA of these two nationalities. Its like comparing Fruits with Vegetables. Both has +ve and -ve things.
At the end, its the aspirants call whether to choice a quantitative part of MBA or pragmatic approach after an MBA.

Hello All,
Please advise me on my admission in UK B School. I have got offers from Royal Holloway, Bradford and Brunel so far.
And I am thinking about getting into Bradford for the full time MBA course. My problem is, I will be accompanied by my 1 year old child and most probably after 2-3 months my husband will also join me on dependant visa. Being my dependant he will be able to work there in UK. But he has better job prospects in London than Bradford. Apart from this I have heard that Bradford is not safe city. This is compelling me to think about again as I will be staying there with my child.
Can anybody please comment on this?

Hi trupti,
I had a school friend named Trupti G Ghala. She is from Gujarat. We were class mates....in chennai....You confirm it.
BTW if you are really interested towards MBA I would suggest you to pick Bradford and if needed you can stay in leeds which is apprx 7 km away....In fact I think family accommodations are avail in Brad hostel which would be much safer for you.Your hubby can spend some time with you and kids. But it would be much expensive becoz your hubby will be staying separately and you both will be spending big sum.
Other choice you got is stay with your hubby. In my case I have to be the bread winner. So I have to settle in job at the earliest. You dont have that pressure.
So get admitted nearby london and focus your studies.Perhaps univ may not be reputed univ but you got plenty of time to settle..
Above all do you have any relations over there? They can help you a lot...Analyse all the factors and arrive a decision.
All the best

Thanks a lot for your reply Sussee.
I am not Trupti, the one you have mentioned, sorry for that. I am from Pune.
Yes MBA is more important in my case. But as you have mentioned I can stay in Leeds. Do you have any idea about what could be the job prospects of IT professional with 9 years experince in Leeds? I mean in that case he can get job in leeds itself.
I don't have relatives out there in UK. But have few friends. I will get in touch with them.
Are you joining Bradford?
