Where in the world do you want to work? Take a look at the GMAT Tiers post on my profile page.

I’m happy to work in UK, US or Canada

I checked out your list and I see a lot of good schools like Cass (now Bayes), Imperial, Manchester Alliance, McGill, Rotman, Babson, Terry etc.
any chance of securing a scholarship in these schools based on my profile??

Your work experience does not sound very strong, so if you need a notable amount of scholarship with your current GMAT, you will need to target generally weaker schools. However, I don't recommend that. See: The sad facts about scholarships http://www.find-mba.com/board/37055
I guess Terry is the least selective of the schools you mention. Also, if you are interested in the tech industry, what would you like to do in that industry? Targetting a master of science degree aligned to one specific business function (eg. Digital marketing, marketing analytics, technology consulting, systems analysis, cybersecurity, operations management, supply chain etc) would help you get into a better school with a smaller investment and have an easier entry into the labour market.

Thanks for your response!
would you say that a masters in marketing would be repetitive after industry experience? I prefer an mba to gain holistic business understanding now and how to pivot. How about an MIM although I know I’m beyond the max work ex they look at?
also would you suggest MS from better school over MBA from average school?

Industry experience gives you narrow, deep, tactical capabilities and people skills. An academic programme gives you breadth, a critical eye, and a strategic framing that allows you to tie up marketing to long-term business goals and brand values. If you compare the content of the courses, some will be more repetitive and others will be more helpful. I think a generic programme in marketing, like the Lancaster AMM for example, would do less for you than a programme in marketing analytics (e.g. Southampton), marketing practice (e.g. UCD or business development and negotiation (e.g. IÉSEG).
If you goal is to find work in another country then, absolutely, a MSc from a good school is better than an MBS from an average school.

Interesting feedback!
how about Msc Strategic Marketing at Imperial, Msc Marketing & Creativity at ESCP or like the MS Marketing at Purdue?
Posted Aug 01, 2022 14:17
Those are generic programmes. They are good, but perhaps not as good for placement as programmes at similar schools aligned to a specific business function.

Hmm I’ll try looking for programs based on your recommendation.
However in my case targeting Brand manager or product manager roles, I don’t believe there are specific programs for that?
I’d like to build a specialisation as a brand and product marketer and eventually get into business strategy.

Look at jobs on LinkedIn. There are almost no "brand manager" roles, and there are far more product marketing roles. You're more likely to end up in sales, account management, digital marketing etc. There *are* product management degrees but they tend to be either verticalised to the nature of the product (digital, engineering, fashion, fintech, food, luxury, manufacturing etc) or embedded into project management degrees.

Got you!
I’ll look into project management degrees with a focus on tech then is what I gather.

Awesome. A few suggestions:

Thanks a ton! I’ll check these out.
Would you mind going through the msc marketing and creativity at escp? I thought it was fairly practical and had applied for it a few days before starting this thread. Would appreciate your inputs!
thanks.

I know it really well. I visited ESCP and spent a day there organised with the team in their Creativity Marketing Centre. It's a very generic course. It just seems more applied because they break the course down into smaller blocks. In terms of hands-on skills, it's really limited.

Thank you so much for your insight!!! Really appreciate it.
In that case I’m wondering if an online university based program like I’m mentioning below will be a good place to build tangible skills and probably use a good mba to move through networking and leadership building?
An Ed tech company in India has collaborated with Purdue to offer this program: https://www.simplilearn.com/pgp-digital-marketing-certification-program
alternatively, are you aware of any certifications for marketers granted through a recognised body? Eg. ca/cfa for finance professionals.

The CIM is the outstanding organisation with marketing qualifications. Full-time MSc and MBA options like the ones I suggested will be optimal if you want to work in another country. That Purdue programme looks find but I don't think it will majorly shift things for you.
Posted Aug 01, 2022 21:33
Is CIM only recognised in the UK or globally?
Posted Aug 01, 2022 22:29
CIM qualifications are taught all over the world.
