I gave my GMAT. Scored 570 ( 2nd attempt). No plans to retake..My plan is to do 1 year MBA from Canada, Singapore or USA. I have 7 years of teaching experience. Have done MA in French. Looking for a good consultant who can guide me with the college selection and application process too.

A couple of thoughts on your situation:
- frankly, your GMAT score is fairly low. Even the lower tier of the one-year MBAs in the countries you mentioned (Ryerson, Degroote, SMU...) will generally recruit candidates with GMAT scores of 600+
- there are not many 1 year MBAs in the US. The ones that exist (Kellogg, USC, Emory) will probably be looking for a higher GMAT score than you have. Katz might be an option - but with an average GMAT score of 608 it would still be a reach for you.
What are your goals?

Thanks
After MBA, I am more interested in teaching job. I would like to teach a management subject in which I may specialise during my MBA. Since last week ,I am planning to retake the exam and then apply next year, as I am already late to start with the applications for the second round and it wont make much sense applying in the third round.
I would also like to know how good are the chances of having job in teaching field as an Indian in USA or In Canada. I prefer to do MBA from Canada because of my French language knoweldge.

In which kind of institution would you like to teach business?
Posted Nov 29, 2016 16:47
I would like to teach in the institutes who have tie up with the companies and their employees need to study a subject as a part of their training. There I would take an experience of 2 years or so and then will apply for teaching in colleges as a trainee under a professor and under whom I will plan to do Phd too.

Maybe I don't know enough about this sector, but I still don't understand.
If you want to teach at a University (say, become a professor), an MBA seems pointless to me, since you need or pursue a Phd for that. This might depend on the country, but I'm quite sure that this is true for most higher education systems.
Teaching in companies could mean to facilitate trainings in soft skills, such as negoatiation or presentation skills. I have seen plenty of these trainings from a client's perspective. However, most people who did that learn these skills 'on the job' and/or in specialized courses - not in an MBA.
Why do you think an MBA is the right degree for your goal?

Sir, As I am into foreign Language Teaching, this subject has'nt got many options . Most of the universities have this subject only as an optional subject. I wish to take my career to another high level and i do have interest in teaching. This is the reason I plan to do MBA and then have teaching career in this field.

So you do an MBA as a stepping stone / prerequisite for a business-related Phd? And after the Phd you want to teach business at universities?

Exactly!! Sir, I would also like to know how much is the possibility of teaching before I enrol myself In Phd. Will I be able to pay my debts before that. And Sir, do you think to have teaching goal after MBA does the duration of the programme matters.

Usually, people who want to go into Teaching have 3 options
1) Go for a Master of Education:
2) Go for a Master of xxx (your field of interest) Economics, Business, Management, Operations, French, English whatever
3) Go for a MBA (subset of point 2)
Then either work for several years and return to do PhD or do PhD and work on several research projects.
Maybe look at HEC Montreal MBA? and then PhD from McGill maybe?
