I improved my GMAT Focus score from 540 to 638. My percentiles: Verbal 98th, Data Insights 83th, Quant 40th. Despite excelling in finance courses, I struggle with standardized math sections. Will my 40th percentile hurt my MBA chances? Considering explaining my strong academic record in the essay or retaking the GMAT. Thanks.

Although its less problematic than being weak on the verbal side, I recommend working on the quant side: It would boost your GMAT greatly. I used high school algebra and calculus revision guides, which worked for me.

Thank you for providing your insight. I'll try find such guides online. If you have any links at hand, of course, it'd be much appreciated. Cheers!

I used a book by Barron's, I think, but any revision guide aimed at bright 16 or 17-year-olds will work.
