MBA in Healthcare

Freedy

Hello Everybody,

This is Dr. Freedy, Arabic physician , have experience in healthcare management for about 8 years in UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
I had searched a lot of MBA programs to support my work experience and I had found MBA program offered from Frankfurt school of finance and management. The program looks like suitable for me because it requires only 8 weeks residency so it will let me to continue to work during the program.
My main goal is to relocation in (Europe mainly Norway, Sweden) or USA and to continue DBA or PhD after.
Do you think this program will let me achieve my goals or you can suggest something different for me.

Thanks

I am not sure that a EMBA that is specalised on healthcare will need your needs as much as a more general EMBA from a better school. That depends on your goals.

I assume you don't want a full-time PhD or to teach at top business schools. If that was the case, you could aim for a masters with a more academic dissertation, that was closer to research scholarship, rather than the action learning based on current problems that concludes the Frankfurt EMBA.

Thank you Duncan for your reply,
If I achieved my first goal relocation, I will be able to go to full time PhD and to teach in business school if I have opportunity.
So if this is the case , what do think , shall I go for online MBA or you can suggest a master degree programs as you mentioned in your reply.

Thanks

If you want to teach, then the most important thing is to get into a PhD that is AACSB accredited. And the best way to do that will be to take a masters with a scholarly dissertation that is more academic than purely managerial. The best preparation will be a dissertation that involves a major review of recent, widely-cited articles in top journals. I suggest you aim for a an MRes or an MSc by research rather than an MBA. For example, Manchester has an MRes pathway in healthcare management: http://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/masters/courses/list/02059/mres-management/all-content/
