I am currently pursuing a masters program in fashion management but its scope lies only in merchandising. Please suggest me programs in fashion management which have branding,marketing and advertising as opportunities post the completion. ESSEC (France) - they have a MBA in Luxury Brand Management - def check it out. Seems like a good program.
Also, SDA Bocconi has a Master's in Fashion, Experience and Design Management you might be interested in too (although not a MBA - but I was told there was a lot of overlap w/this program and MBA - just focuses mainly on fashion)
Here in NY there is also Fashion Institute of Technology - they have a Global Fashion Management degree (masters) but you need to have some experience in the industry.

As for the program at FIT,it says that the curriculum is intensive which is good but the classes are in the evenings which makes it difficult for international applicants who will have to find alternatives by the day which is again very difficult.Also, the program does not define the scope for someone who graduates from this course.
But if i have to compare both of these above mentioned institutions,FIT is a better option.

In the vein of Fashion Management, I'm searching for more information about MBAs in Arts Management. In North America, I know there's the California College of the Arts and I believe Rutgers has a program, but I find the information out here to be slim. I come from a background in festivals and events management, so I'm wondering if an MBA is the right direction... anybody have any insight?

HEC has a luxury certificate and a high fashion management class. The MBA is a general MBA instead of being specialised, yes. But it doesn't mean apparel companies don't hire from there. I know HEC MBA alumn who have gone on a career at Kenzo, Marc Jacobs or Gucci. Both Essec and HEC have strong ties with PPR, which owns not only luxury brands (Guggi group) but also mass brands like Puma.
On the other side of the Atlantic, NYU is also a general MBA with a specialisation in Luxury Marketing and a lot going on in the Luxury and Retail area. You can have a look at some of their recruiters on the following page.

Like any EMBA it's part time with a few session scattered accross the year. You need 5 years of significant experience to apply.

I want to do an MBA in Fashion management/marketing/business even a masters would do.

What do you think of the courses mentioned higher up on this page? Also look at the IIM in Paris, which is AMBA-accredited: the fashion business track in its MBA is taught by a top Paris fashion school. http://iim-en.cnam.fr/mba/

Merchandising is your long-term or your short-term objective?
You would prefer an MBA in Fashion Management or in Luxury? There is a huge difference between the two: Fashion can mean H&M, Zara and Topshop (that are not luxury brands), while Luxury Management would probably empower you towards a different reality, like LVMH, or a smaller but more upscale firm, like Bulgari.

hey you guys, since i have absolutely no knowledge in the stream what are the prospects after doing an MBA in fashion management and what are the colleges which have such a program. i am very interested in fashion but not design per say. what according to you guys would be the best program for me. it could be a masters or an MBA.

I think it depends on what type of career you'd like to have in fashion. Are you looking to launch your own line, or get into merchandising, buying, retail, PR, etc.? As you can see from the thread there's a lot of programs out there, in Europe and the US. Toronto also has a lot of esteemed and affordable fashion management programs. You might want to look into: Humber College, George Brown College, Seneca College. These are not MBAs, mind you, but rather degrees in fashion management. Higher up on the list is SCAD, LIM, Berkeley. But I think it's best to figure out what branch of fashion and where you'd like to work after the degree.
