Hiii Duncan,
I received offers from Case Western (93K fee for 2 years) with a 50% scholarship (subject to GPA maintenance) and Buffalo (58K for 2 years) with no scholarship. If we go by fee, both end up approximately the same. But UB’s MBA program is non-STEM with one year of OPT, whereas Case Western’s is a STEM-designated program, hence the OPT will be for 3 years.
I’m a software engineer from India and want to pivot into finance, and I want your inputs considering the pros and cons of both. What are the prospects of Case Western and SUNY Buffalo in landing me a job? Brand recognition? Average salaries to clear my debts (ROI), What percentage of graduates are hired after graduation? How strong are the career services at both universities? Etc
I’ve researched a lot. Some websites place Case Western at rank 132 and Buffalo at 280 (Times Higher Education ranking). Some rank Case Western better in finance, and some ranking websites portray both as equally good schools (Poets and quants). Some rank Buffalo as the best B-school. I’m confused! Please assist.
Please suggest to me which one is the safest school to land me a job! My deposit deadline is coming up on April 18th.
I'm now totally relying on expert advice like yours, as I've been watching your unbiased answers for many years!
Thanks in advance!
Update as of May 5th, 2022: Buffalo offered me a Dean's Scholar award with a scholarship of $10,000/yr renewable for the 2nd year too, bringing my CoA down to $37,158.
@Dunkan... Yet, I'm going by your choice with Weatherhead.
