I completed the MSc in Management from Lancaster in 2011. Since then I have been working in Hong Kong in an investment firm. Now I want to transition into consulting preferably at a top firm (Bain, McKinsey.)
I want to know if it is advisable to do an MBA now to make this jump. I am afraid that I would not get an admit, considering I already have an MSc.
If so, which schools should I look at? I don't know if I would go back to the UK. I do know that LBS is a good school, but I would rather stay in Hong Kong at HKUST or HKU.
One other thing is that my employer said he would sponsor a part time MBA but that I would have to commit to the firm for an additional two years after I graduate. That would be more time but less cost for me. At that point I am skeptical that I would be able to go into consulting.
Please advise me.

I think it's very advisible to do an MBA, and your MSc will not hold you back at most top schools. Take a look at http://find-mba.com/lists/top-business-school-by-speciality/top-business-schools-for-consulting
If your employer would sponsort a part-time MBA at a great school then that's very interesting, but they would also need to help you move to another role in the firm where you would use the skills.

Yes, an MBA after an MSc isn't generally an issue. Just make sure you are clear about your goals and how an MBA specifically would help you meet them, in your application letters and interviews.
I would also consider your long-term career goals. If you want to stay in Hong Kong, the schools you mentioned might work. But the strongest for consulting worldwide tend to be LBS and INSEAD - both of which have are excellent at placing MBAs in consulting roles, all over the world. If you're interested in going to the US, the schools on the ranking that Duncan linked to are all really good: Harvard/Columbia/Booth/Sloan/Duke/etc.

Thanks to both of you for the advice.
One last question: do you guys think it's too late to apply for fall 2016 intake at the schools you mentioned, LBS, Insead, Harvard and all the rest?
