Looking for a career change

Hi,

I am seeking advise to pursue an Full time MBA program (preferably 1 year) for the next available intake (i think i have already missed the Sept. 2023 intake deadlines)

Reasons for pursuing an MBA would be career change towards Operations Management or Finance or Management consulting while also migrating to a new country (UK or Europe).

My primary preference would be English speaking countries (as local language skills are quite essential in Europe for post MBA jobs & Career growth)

Some details about me -

Age - 33
Qualification - Bachelor of Petroleum Engineering
Current Work Experience - 9 + years
Industry - Oil & Gas
Work locations - UAE , Saudi Arabia & Azerbaijan
GMAT Test- Not yet taken (planning to take in the next 6 months)

Which of these industries and countries is the most viable for you? And what role and business function would be like to be in? There is too little focus to your goals, so it's hard to bring specific answers.

Furthermore,  if you want to work in UK or Irish (the English speaking countries) operations management wny take an MBA rather than an MSc in operations?

Hi Duncan,

My primary reasons/goals for pursuing an FT MBA is for career change and Migration.
Post MBA i am keen to work in Management , Consulting or Finance sectors.

Originally i planned to pursue FT MBA program in Germany , but was worried about the German Language Fluency (i.e. B2 level) requirements would for Post MBA Job Search.

I can't think of many MBA level jobs in Germany where intermediate German would be adequate. Shop work, perhaps.

Hi Duncan ,

Can you advise B-schools in UK that accept candidates for FT MBA at age 34 ?

I don't think there are any schools [in the UK] that would not admit someone to an MBA on the basis of age.
