Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Management

Hi Moderators and Forum Members,

I am a MBA aspirant from India . I have a GMAT score of 660 and 6 + years for work experience in IT industry . I also have 3+ years of experience working in the United States as team lead of a team of 11 members.

I have got an admission offer from Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Management for the 2 year MBA program in operation management . I have also got a decent scholarship .

However , I wanted to know if i can consider Katz as a mid tier school. I am skeptical to go a college ranked below mid term colleges considering that I am an international student. After going through the school website and talking to students and adcoms , i was fairly convinced about the school. However, after going through different rankings published , i am confused as Katz has fared decently in ranking published by forbes and economist. But it slipped beyond 50 in U.S.news and Businessweek rankings.

Please let me know your option about the school and do you think Katz can be considered as a mid tier school.

Warm Regards,
Rohit

Katz has had a couple of good years for both its EMBA and MBA. Compared to other US schools in the FT Global MBA ranking, it is good for international mobility. It's not a terrible choice http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/university-of-pittsburgh-katz/global-mba-ranking-2017#profile

It's not a bad school. Did you apply to anything else? If you're looking to go into operations management, there will probably be other, stronger American schools, like Terry, Rutgers, Krannert...
