HULT or Aston Business School or University of Illinos (iMBA)

Hello Everyone,

I am evaluating the following Business Schools for an online MBA as I currently reside in Canada.

- HULT (OnlineFlex MBA)

- Aston (Online MBA)

- University of Illinois (iMBA)

I have done tons of research and came across this site, so I thought I'll get some insights from everyone, more specifically Duncan, who consistently shares a lot of valuable input here.

My academic and professional background:

- No Bachelor's Degree

- 7 years in Management with Large organizations

- 10 years (currently) running a consulting firm (self employed)

Budget for MBA:

- Up to $35,000

- Self-funded

Reasons for MBA:

- Add structure to my business (there are some areas to improve)

- Look at penetrating the international markets

- My long term goal is to teach as a Lecturer/Professor at a University (in Business) in the Middle East

My questions:

1) So, curious to hear everyone's thoughts or experiences (good or bad) (e.g. curriculum, getting the most out of the program, etc.) they can share if they have done their MBA Online at either of those Business Schools?

2) For those who live or work in the Middle East, which countries' MBA is more valued there? (UK, US, or Canada)

(From the initial research, it seems like Employers in the Middle East also take into account the Rankings of the Business Schools when establishing a salary package for successful candidates)

Duncan, I would love to hear your thoughts on this as well.

Thanks, everyone.

I appreciate the reply, Duncan. From getting the most out of the MBA program (courses, electives, etc) which of those 3 Business Schools (from your knowledge) offers the most value in developing strong analytical skills?

I read some of your comments on other posts, where you indicated that "University of Illinois (iMBA)" makes little sense if the person isn't planning to work in the US. Moreover, I know you're a big advocate of studying where you are going to be working.

Since HULT also has a Business School in Dubai, would you recommend that option since my long-term goal is to teach in the Middle East (not necessarily in Dubai, but in other parts)? or (from what you know or heard about the Middle East market), that a UK MBA would be more valuable?
