Hello everyone.
I wanted to thank everybody for all the precious information already shared in this forum.
I am a 35 year-old engineer. I manage a dozen of data scientists in a large retail company in France.
My objective short term is to take on more responsibility in the company as the data unit grows and multiply our business impact by developing us as a strategic player within the organisation rather than a support function.
Long term I want to continue to grow at HQ and aim at a Chief Data Officer position.
For family reasons I can’t commute too far away from home and be absent for too long periods. I studied the possibility of online MBA but I feel I would benefit more from being in a strong and close cohort.
I am considering HEC, ESCP, INSEAD.
In a thread of this forum from 2018, HEC was not appearing in rankings and was supposed to be geared towards entrepreneurship. ESCP was supposed to have the most senior cohort.
Since 2018 HEC has been in the top of the rankings and showing higher pre-EMBA salary than ESCP, suggesting a more senior cohort. Looking at candidates profiles on LinkedIn, I don’t see much of a difference in terms of cohort quality. INSEAD maybe has more people from management consulting.
My research on LinkedIn seem to show strong network in the data / tech domain for all three schools. INSEAD has more volume of alumni. ESCP has less volume but good density. HEC is balanced.
1. Between HEC, INSEAD and ESCP which has the most seniority in cohort ?
2. Given my goals, which school would you choose?
3. Do you feel it would would be worth considering UK schools as well?
Thanks for your feedback.

You should be cautious about the HEC ranking, since those data are more effective of the cohorts in other countries, and the PPP calculation distorts the ranking. My feeling is that the ESCP and Insead cohorts are similarly senior. If you career might take you outside France, then Insead is the better choice.

Thanks StuartHE. It makes perfect sense.
the fact that pre-EMBA salary at HEC are not relevant does not mean the cohort is less senior either. Do you have other reasons to believe HEC cohort is less senior than INSEAD and ESCP?

Just compare the participants. The ESCP federal cohort, which moved from campus to campus, is especially senior.

Thanks StuartHE. I have looked up LinkedIn for profiles in both cohort and HEC doesn’t strike me as less experienced as INSEAD and ESCP. Do you have a trick to search LinkedIn a particular way?

Yes, if you subscribe to Sales Navigator you can filter by seniority, title and company headcount.
