Hi Duncan and other members,
Since I don't have the required managerial work experience and the top $ to attend a solid MBA, I'm strongly considering an accredited Msc in management to fast track my management career. The program that I'm intrested in is the one from Aberystwyth University. Although I have limited info on whether the University is decent for management? Duncan i know you have mentionned the University several Times in your posts, what can you say? Is it decent?
How can you compare an MBA to an MIM when it comes at developing soft skills, leadership skills and analytics skills?
If you need more info on my background let me know.
Thank!
Aberystwyth University, Msc Management, AMBA Accredited

It's a good school, and it will be better than a freshers MBA. It's a very international programme, so it will have some good cross-cultural skills building work. However, that that price it's going to be a classroom based programme. No prior experience in management is needed, so the level won't be especially high. IELTS 6 is needed, so the level of English won't be as high as schools asking for a 6.5 (which is what most AMBA-accredited MSc programmes seem to ask for). They don't seem to claim any strong placement record.
Academically, I think it's okay. Aberystwyth is respected, but I think a better, larger school with higher standards and more project work and team work in the MSc would be a better choice.
