Porto Business School- should I join?

I am expecting to receive offer from PBS for their full time one-year MBA program. I only speak basic Portugese at present. How is the program viewed in the Portugal corporate world? Are graduates from PBS MBA able to find decent jobs in Portugal after completion of the program? And what about jobs for English speakers? I have already started taking Portugese classes but I know I won't be able to speak it fluently by the completion of the program.

My target is to stay back and work in Portugal post MBA. Looking forward to getting some insights.

This isn't really a question about Porto but about you learning Portuguese. It doesn't matter how good Porto is (and it's excellent) if you don't speak a high level of the language before you start the degree. See: Do you need to speak the local language? www.find-mba.com/board/34713

Thanks Duncan! I was expecting your reply actually.

So language skills not withstanding for a moment, PBS is a great school for getting an international MBA, right?

I considered taking either their MBI or EMIB, so I respect it. However, studying where you want to work would be best. It's a no-name school outside Portugal.

Duly noted, thanks Duncan. My plan is to settle in Portugal in the long term, so I think PBS suits me well. It doesn't hurt the fact that Portugal will give me 1 year job-seeker visa as well post completion of the program.

One more thing though, I am also thinking about applying for the MSc Finance program offered by ISCTE Lisbon. It's 2 years long which is a bit long for me considering my age. However, a longer duration program like it will be helpful in acculturation. Plus, it will be easier to pick up the language as well.

What are your thoughts on it?

This all depends on your goals. I imagine that an English-language programme on Lisbon may be the worst place to improve your Portuguese.
