Dear All
I would like to give the update of this post and give some hope to who thinks has no possibility to enter the wanted school just for a bad gmat.
I got an admission from Esade, IE, IESE, MBS,
I decided to accept Esade and I blocked there
I received today the invitation for the Cranfield interview but I will decline tomorrow
IMD will give their answer for end febraury.
So for the moment I got 5 good results on 6.
I wrote all this just to give some hopes to people as me that was depressed for the gmat,,,that repeated 5 times or more and is scared to not enter in the targeted school
However I can say this post is the proof the BS don't stop to look your application after the gmat and they look the overall picture
Keep going:)
Bye
Andrea
MBS, ESADE, IESE, IMD, CRANFIELD, IE. Could I have a possibility?

I agree with the fact the BSchools do not consider GMAT as the most important criteria and that you can get an acceptance with relatively low GMAT (620 to 650) by having a very good curriculum.
Nevertheless I think that you are not saying the truth.

Dear Single Spain
I had 580 and the rest of the application was strong aswell my profile.
I think for sure you have low chances than others but the BS want the person fit better their schools and I don't think that a 620 gmat with bad profile is better than 580 with good profile.
However maybe I'm lucky but I studied hard to prepare all and I think the admissions appreciated that so I confirm you what I told you before.
Then if you think I lie it is not my problem...I just wrote this to give an hope to people that are really good in all but they have problems with the gmat and they got depressed for that.
I don't think if you have 500 you can have a possibility but if you are over the average in your application maybe a 570- 580- 590 can give you a possibility.
Or you underevaluate the admissions department so much to think they are just robot that check just the scores and not what you are?
At the end if you need, to stop to send negative messages to people, I can send you to your private a copy of the letter of admission I have so you can understand how bad open minded you were.
Best Regards

all mba that you applied to are top-notch. any particular reason why you chose them and then concentrate on ESADE which to be honest with you I think is a bit less renowned than the likes of IMD or IESE but the quality of education is pretty similar.

Hi Donho
IMD did not give me an answer and they will give me for the end of febraury...so it will be too late for me bc I have to give an answer to the other schools during this month...
About Iese I think the school is better than Esade in IB and MC but these are not the areas where I'm focused. I want to work in industry and in sales/marketing and it seems for all the research I made and the talks I had with mba alumni, Esade is better in these areas so I chose this school.
In general I chose these Mbas for my profile and the sector I want to work. They re all focused on industry, except IESE that I chose by advise of a collegue that he did but I was not so sure it was the right one for me.

I think it's pretty unfair of you to imply that Andrea is lying about his* admission to these schools. Why would he do that? He's been on this forum updating us on every step of his admission process. He has seven years of experience, a 3.9 undergraduate gpa, and got professional advice on his applications. He is in the marketing field, which I think is attractive for adcoms because they like people who are good communicators and have a lot of energy. Yes, his GMAT score was relatively poor, but he clearly did a good job of explaining his results to the admissions departments at each school. It seems like he also did a good job of networking and putting a face to his application.
All b-schools are willing to make exceptions on their GMAT standards for candidates who are otherwise exceptional. So if you have a bad GMAT, but everything else is awesome, I think Andrea is right that you can get into a top school. And he is proof of that.
*I changed all the "she"s to "he"s in this post becuase I had mistakenly thought Andrea was a woman! Ooops!

well i can confirm that you can get into Wharton with less than 650 ( 640 something) and other top MBA in USA with less than 600
These are real cases
I think some can score on diversity. So if you are indian or chinese or american applying to USA MBA then you are cometing with a larger pool of candidates with pretty similar background ( IT indian guys with high GMAT or Mathemtical Chinese guys with very high quantitative GMAT)
So if you come from a unique background experience, and mindset you will be alright

I think the diversity factor applies in European schools as well. Being female helps a lot, espeically if you're from Europe, because European business schools want to produce female leaders who can become managers at European companies after graduation. This is because there's a lot of demand from companies that want to recruit women from these schools. The companies are doing this, not only for PR, but because women have proven to be valuable in leadership roles, since they offer the perspective of the female consumer -- which is a segment of the market that companies are hoping to do a better job of attracting.

Andrea --
Why didn't you tell me I've been mistaking your gender all this time!!! In the U.S., "Andrea" is usually a woman's name, so I was just assuming you were female hahaha. But I just noticed that you friend requested me on Facebook and you look very male :P
So, never mind that stuff I said about having an advantage as a female. You apparently made it into all these schools even without that advantage! So, way to go! :)
Sally.

I am pretty sure he or she is lying.
Exceptionally you may be admited to one of the mentioned schools with 580 but no to all of them and with 1 month. Also she mentioned that she was not even invited to an interview so that´s not reasonable.

Dear Single Spain,
First as I told yesterday I'm a man so speak about him.
Second, Thank for your comment.
I already answered you before. Check my last answer
I would prefer to not waste my time in this way. This is a stupid conversation and If you have problems in accepting what I wrote u have 2 choice:
1. contact me in a private way and I'll show you re misunderstanding, but then I will kindly ask you to apologize in an official way on this forum
2. u belive me and that's it or u don't belive me and keep going on your way. iT IS UP TO YOU!!!
Anyway I have no sense to write lies here and for this reason I will stop to write on this thread and to answer you.
From now if you have problems you re free to contact me in a private way and we will solve your childish doubts.
From my point of view I finished my story, I obtained the BS I wanted and I'm sure I will have a great return from the MBA experience and Im really satisfied of my job done to obtain it. I was amazed by the school and the admission team department. They were great people incredibly focused on people.
I repeat for the last time... I just wrote the update to give positive messages to people as me that fighted a lot for their results.
Said this I wish good luck everyone for own success and I go out from your stupid game
Final result:
Manchester -> OK
Esade -> OK
IESE -> OK but on waiting list -> I need to repeat the exam and obtain 600 but I'm in
IE -> OK
Cranfield -> interview but I rejected because I already confirmed Esade
IMD -> I will wait an asnwer for end febraury but unfortnunaley it is too late
Bye

I am not interested in knowing who you are. Just what I am saying is that I do not believe you so many acceptances with such a low GMAT of 580. That´s all folks.

I give up!!!

Hi everyone
I send the last update.
I received 3 on monday the call for the interview to IMD.
I will have to reject because I already confirmed Esade but it was nice to know.
So to give hope to everyone it seems Gmat is important but it is not the only issue they have!!!
I thank Sally and the other people during all my applications
Good Luck everyone

That's awesome Andrea! Glad everything turned out well for you. I think you made a good choice with ESADE -- maybe I will see you at an inter b-school function such as this!
