Hi ,

I am Shrinidhi from India and I just received an admit to join the MBA program at Hochschule Pforzheim this September. I was wondering if someone else from this forum is also joining the winter semester. If yes, then please reply to this post and we could start a discussion on details like Visa processing etc. This could help other applicants as well.

Your GMAT score is high enough to get you into some highly ranked schools, where the average salary will be roughly double that of Pforsheim. But if you can't afford them then you'll need to take the time to get scholarships and loans.

Most of the top 100 business schools (not the top third, where the average GMAT is 700, but the bottom two-thirds where the average is 640) will consider you. Those schools will have alumni on average around $100K, while Pforsheim alumni will be closer to $50K.

@namita

that is incorrect information. There were 3 Indians in the batch, one of them is working in Munich.

There is one student who is in her 3rd job post MBA - the first two being KPMG and a start up.

The third student (alumni) is a Daimler AG employee right from the time he graduated. He was an intern there before starting work.

Hi,

Could I please get information about job placement for Indians who have passed out of Pforzheim MBA program? I did come across the posts which say the salary is around 45k and Indians could be chosen as Management trainees. What I want to know is how are the chances out of Germany in Western Europe for someone who had not had management experience pre-MBA? Do people consider this degree outside Germany? And what after one is chosen as Management Trainee; where do these trainees end up?

A word regarding the same from Pforzheim alumni would be highly helpful too.

I think most of the alumni will be working either in their home countries or in the region around Pforzheim. If you want to work in a different European region, study there instead.

Thanks for the reply.

I came cross this piece of info that to stay in European countries after graduation the candidate must find a company which would sponsor the work visa for non-citizens. How far is this info correct; please do correct if it's wrong.

Also about the placement, how are the job prospects for MBA grads from Pforzheim all around Germany; is it limited only to the local area? If that's true, its a disappointing fact because returning back to home country after graduation is not what I am looking for.

Dear,

Being from 2009 batch, I can assure you of the quality of the program and the job opportunities thereafter.
MBA is a part of your overall profile, an addition, which helps you to be a better candidate for the jobs. It cannot guarantee anything obviously. Germany has plenty of good opportunities. All I can confirm is that those who stayed here and sincerely applied for jobs have got one(even more) at the end of the day. I do not know anybody who went back because of not getting a job.
You are also misinformed about the visa situation. You can freely search job market and once you have a contract, will easily get the visa.
You do have to compete to get management (trainee) or other jobs but that's true for every job market. Simple fact: Sincerely work hard(and smartly) and you will get what you want. People will always help you.

Thanks a lot Pervez for the reply. I really appreciate your help.

Could you also tell me competitive GMAT score since the past 3 years? I have an experience of 2.5 years in non-commerce sector. I am an MSc in Biotechnology and have experience of lecturing at graduate level for 1.5 years and followed by a technical role in a Central Research Institute. I plan to take up Gmat in 2 months from now. Have my GRE score ready which is 1160 which roughly equals 580 on GRE-GMAT conversion scale. My toefl iBT score is 105. Anyhow, I need to take it up again as the scores are gonna expire this Aug.

What could be the suitable MBA programs for me? I am more interested in General Management and Consulting career and am pretty obsessed with pursing a program with valued accreditation.

Dear,

I believe it is 550 for GMAT. Check the webpage or write to MBA office, also for if they can consider your GRE and TOEFL score.
I will not recommend anything other than Pforzheim :-) , but the one at Reutlingen is also good supposedly. Also, Offenburg offers an mba in consulting.
Per my experience, go for a general MBA program (e.g: Pforzheim) and then choose electives as per your interest. Post MBA world is full of interesting opportunities, do not focus on consulting just now. During MBA you will do project and internship (most probably) where you can watch job types closely and decide on your developed interests.
Still, you will need to make multiple MBA applications, three already stated, two more could be HWR Berlin, and Cologne Business School (this one is just a guess). Links are given below.

I have also studied biotechnology (BTech).
