Noya, maybe you guys should lobby in the United States for direct scholarship money. I pay a lot of taxes here in the states. I hate to see my hard earned money given to foreign countries, so that the politicians can get fat and act like Gods, while people like you who would make hones uncorrupt leaders find it formidable to get their MBA. I say we give foreign aid directly to causes like education, medicine and other meaningful things. RATHER then to buy MERCS, BOMBS, and KEEP CORRUPTION Going. Let me know how I can help. I love Indonesia, and actually I love everybody in the world especially those trying to get more education that can inturn help their country and ultimately the world.
Also try India for an MBA, it can't be that expensive! You get people with MBA's coming to work here in the states for $20 an hour when ordinarily that task woiuld require $100-$200 an hour?
Anyway, it might be a temporary situation eventually it will be really talent that can do and produce. Good luck and don't give up. Remember several countries will offer you a graduate scholarship if you include "teaching in the mix" Say you do your MBA anyway, but you also do some special education courses.

It's true, about this problem of financing my MBA I could go to India, but I really don't want to. I would do everything to spend some time outside Asia, as I said, in a different cultural (+business) environment.
What exactly is that graduate scholarship including "teaching in the mix"? I am keen to know more about that! Thanks a lot in advance!

Have you tried fulbright in your country: Assuming you are not as old as I am. I think you have to be 35 and under. You know I won't mention any names but some minister there managed to get a scholarship,, for a very pretty young lady to attend SUNY. She was a roomate with my sister in law. She was always out partying with Indonesian dignitaries in Manhattan. Strikingly pretty, but even SUNY had to kick her out. No one ever gets kicked out of sunny you just graduate in 10 years where others take 2! Anyway. i will do some reseach for you and send you information.
You have to promise, if you come here you will not party with the generals from Indonesia at the UN. stick to your studies. There are plent of beautiful men and women on campus.

Don't worry, I want to study, and I would just be very happy to get the chance to do an MBA in Europe or US.

Since you are so informed about many things connected to MBA, do you know if schools as well give scholarships, like the ones we were talking about in the posts of this thread?

Hello all, sorry was on vacation in past two weeks and didn't log in. So, yes, iuri, am in Jakarta, maybe we can chat more ;D. i heard spanish government provides scholarships, also Swiss governmnet (though it's kinda late as the deadline is for Oct. 31 and non-mba programs). Mindmaker, thanks for the support, and i am not a party crazy girl haha. That girl at SUNY really really embarass me. omg. About the fullbright, i don't think they provide for MBA, mostly for MSc or that kinda tertiary degree. Still, i will inquire about that. thanks for reminding.

haven't decided yet. am in process of applying. Will probably apply to schools in spain or france (to gain benefit of the language), UK (my relatives live there), belgium or netherlands (cheaper). For germany, FHW berlin offers MBA with a strong emphasis on Asian economy/business. my friend went to one, he said was ok. but i don't speak german at all, so i don't think i would go there.

For germany, there's scholarship opportunity for Indonesians as well. check DAAD web site.

Which FHW is this, which city?

Regarding costs, I think Germany is quite cheap too, even compared to Belgium or Netherlands. Well anyhow, I am really tempted by Germany, I can't really tell why, but I will try to go there. Language is a benefit as well, no?

That could mean that the MBA is not recogized in Germany. Better check about your own country.

Hullo Iuri, well, my friend took marketing concentration for his MBA. he said the MBA program is great, but maybe not for the marketing side. He said there were 2 Indonesian students participated in the class graduating this month (started last year, that is). I think berlin is worth considering because of the cost (both tuition and living). It's accredited by FIBAA though none of the AACSB/AMBA/Equis. The language of instruction is English. I have also friends who go to Nuremberg. Yes, german will be great skill to learn (trade between id-ger is rising) , and the europe's biggest economy in the 2nd quarter grew at its fastest since Sept. 2000 ! :) another MBA in germany that my friend suggested was Reutlingen, and also of course the WHU (this one has tie with Kellog), but the last is quite expensive.
I try to choose spain because the trade between indonesia and spain is still low. so, there's a potential there :) besides, spanish is one of most widely spoken language

No tuition fee at all? Sure, that can't be of the best programs. You ought to pay, or it's not worth much...
Anways, I found it difficult to evaluate which schools to chose in Germany, where I'd preferebly go, because they are nowhere in the rankings. Annoying to go through the different accreditations they have, some are regional, you can't tell what they mean.
This school in Berlin you mentioned Noya sounds like the most interesting one until now.

yup iuri, that can't be the best without tuition (with the exception NHH in norway, tthere's no tuition. problem is, am unsure i can stand the cold weather!). It certainly is difficult to find german schools in international rankings. therre is one, the NIMBAS.

Hi Noya, I forgot about Nimbas. But it is not a totally German program, am I wrong? I mean, you cannot do your whole studies only in Germany, but only partly you'll study in German locations I thought.

About the weather, as well in other parts of Europe it will be rough for us, like in Germany or Netherlands/Belgium - Norway is just a bit worse ;)
Harshest seems to be in winter that the sun dissapears at around 3.30pm and night falls... reason enough to get depressed ha!
