I am recently admitted to Master in Finance at both EMLyon and Grenoble Ecole de Management (GEM) in France.
My objective is to specialize in the Corporate Finance track and to become an M&A analyst in London after graduation.
My spouse is living in London, therefore, visa sponsorship is not a problem for me to come to London to work after graduation. I also had 3 years of work experience in the finance department of a company in the industry and 6 months of experience in its headquarter in London.  I chose France to pursue higher education because of better tuition fees, living expenses, and a relatively good ranking of Master in Finance programs on Financial Times. Therefore, I hope you could help with below 2 questions comparing EMLyon and Grenoble Ecole de Management
1. Which school is more famous for Corporate Finance?
2. Which school has better reputation outside France?

EMlyon in both cases, but why not a school in the UK? 

Hi Duncan,Thank you for your response.As my spouse is French, I want to spent a year in the country to understand French culture. According to Financial Times 2018 ranking, Grenoble ranks 16th, while EMLyon ranks 33th. Grenoble graduate seems to have higher salary; meanwhile, the school also ranks 6th in international mobility and has higher proportion of international student in the cohort. I heard that EMLyon cohort is composed of mainly French speaking students.Does it mean that Grenoble has better MsC Finance program? I know that EMLyon is more famous for its MBA and management program, but I really doubt its MsC in Finance program. Really look forward to hearing your view on this.

Maybe I am a bit cautious about Grenoble, but I have the feeling that it's the sort of school that will game the rankings. For example, the percentage of alumni responding to the FT survey is low. Hey things for me at the much higher employer after EMLyon and the career services ar rated higher. 
You have to see the international mobility score in context: Grenoble is an export brand, with very few French students. EMLYon has a stronger standing in France, so it has more Frenc students.
