Hi, I am a german engineering graduate looking for a MSc program in finance to break into investment banking or management consulting. I currently have the following offers:
UK:
Cass: Corporate Finance
Cranfield: Finance and Management
Durham: Finance
Imperial: Finance
Warwick: Finance
Germany:
WHU: Finance
I am currently leaning towards Cranfield because the course not only has finance courses but also management courses. Furthermore it is 8000 Pounds cheaper than Imerial and Warwick. How would you rank the the universities?

The difference is fees is tiny compared to the difference in outcomes. See http://rankings.ft.com/businessschoolrankings/masters-in-finance-pre-experience-2013

Hi both. Sveno it's great to hear that you are currently leaning towards Cranfield. I don?t know if you are already aware, but we ranked 8th in the world (2013) by the Financial Times for the Cranfield MSc Finance & Management programme. It?s a very popular choice for individuals wishing to make a career shift like yourself. Our recent survey results for this programme showed that 95% of our 2014 graduates secured jobs within 3 months of graduation, increasing their annual salary by almost £20k. Financial Services, including investment banking, and Management Consultancy made up the largest proportions of these jobs, which is a result of Cranfield?s strong connections with the financial industry. Please feel free to take a look at the full MSc report which can be accessed at http://bit.ly/PmpTZW. We are already planning the 2014 Cranfield Finance Event which will take place for new intakes in September, so if you do decide to go with Cranfield, I might see you there!

That's a very interesting report. It's great to have such detail soo: (http://www.som.cranfield.ac.uk/som/dinamic-content/media/Careers/MSc%20Employment%20Report%202014r.pdf). So around one in eight students are from the UK and two in eight end up working in the UK.

Thanks Duncan. Yes we're very proud of our international numbers, and we consciously balance our career service offerings between supporting students wishing to transfer to the UK and those wishing to return to their home country.

Thank you very much for your reply. Which companies are attending the 2014 Cranfield Finance Event?
I am hesitating to accept Cranfield´s offer because Imperial and Warwick are much better known in Germany and I don´t know how Cranfield´s reputation compares to these universities in the UK.
The Financial Times ranking is impressive, but Cranfield is not ranked in any other rankings besides that one (Guardian...)

The Guardian ranking is for undergraduate programmes. For graduate programmes in finance, specialist rankings exist. http://www.best-masters.co.uk/ranking-master-corporate-finance/cranfield-university-cranfield-school-of-management-msc-in-finance-and-management.html?PHPSESSID=f3773b4be727d039b06d9374aafca9e2#.U0p4rOZdV3k
