IE Business School Admits 2010!

Hey Delna,

How're you doing. Good to speak to your future classmate, indeed. So what was your experience like, during the admissions process? You might want to write a line or two for the other applicants here...

Hey, and on a serious note - what sources are you tapping for funding? 50k Euro is quite a large sum, ehh!

Cheers,
KB

Hey Kundan!

I'm doing well! thanks :) How about you?

Well the admissions process for me last for only 3.5months, which I believe is quite short, but that's coz I was working almost night and day on my applications! My essays had almost 4 revisions, before I submitted the final one. So all in all, from the IE admissions test, to submission of the application, interview call and final admission results it lasted 3.5months.

My only advise to applicants would be to take your essays seriously. It's the only way you can shine yourself through. Be consistent in your motives for studying an MBA, make sure to highlight this in most of your essays. Apart from that as I mentioned before, the interview (at least for me) was pretty relaxed, just reinforcing your ideas mentioned in the essays.

About funding my tuition, I am in process of applying for scholarships. So fingers crossed on that one, if not then I might have to take the support of my savings and my parents.

Gluck!

Hello All,

I am applying for Global MBA for this Sept intake. I know it's a little late in the application submission, but I just received en-mail to ask me to take the IE Admission Test. I would like to ask those who took this test to share more information. How is the test differ from the GMAT test? Are the questions about business topics? Do you find the timing tight to answer all the questions?

Thanks,
BMX

Hey. Thanks for the reply. I've found a new MBA programme offered by Goethe' businesss school in Frankfurt. They've launched it in 2009. They already had some executive MBA or finance courses(in collaboration with Duke).
I researched bout the school and found it to be very impressive. The school claims it's proximity and tie ups with the frankfurt finance industry as one of its strenghts. The programme in new and the minimum work ex reqt is 2yrs. Since I'm pursuing CFA L-2, i believe that it'll will be a good fit. Moreover, since the programme has been launched last year, the competition among the international candidates might not be very fierce. I have 1.5 yrs of work-ex and 740 GMAT.
I would request you or anyone else on board to share his opinion about the programme.

Hi Ronnie,

So have you decided to join GBS? I have heard some good things about this school, and what I understand is that it's gonna build a good brand in coming years.

Cheers!

Hi all,

IE is apparently a really good business school, with a high ranking on the MBA table. Its students are quite brilliant too!

In fact, one MBA candidate recently co-authored a white paper on energy efficiency in Spain, and it was really well-received.

Hello Everyone,

Had my interview today. The interviewer said everything is great. We like your career progression and your international exposure. The only issue is the my low gmat score. The interviewer asked me to take the IE admissions test to cover up for the low GMAT. Does this mean that I just need to clear this test in order to get accepted?

Thanks

Don't worry. The IE admission test is not as difficult as the GMAT. Its quite straight forward. It's IE's own scoring system rather than based on GMAT score. In other word, you probably have no problem getting in. Good luck on the test and (pre-)congratz to you.

Hi guys,

So I am now an IE student and I'm doing a "fellowship" in a university department. My assignment is to manage this blog, which is a collaboration of members of the International Development staff in Europe. You can find it here: http://europeandcis.blogs.ie.edu/

Let me know if you have any ideas for topics we could cover that would be of interest to potential students!

Also, for those of you with questions about the interview and admission test, read through the entire thread, these questions have been answered a few times!

Good luck to everyone.

I had my interview on April 11th. I was asked to take the IE test on April 18th. I took the test and didn't know there was negative marking. However, I still managed to finish all 60 questions. Its been almost 12 days I haven't heard anything back. I have been rejected from other two schools I applied for and this is my last hope....I don't know how I did on that test specially on the diagram representation part...!! HELP!!

MBA Admissions Interviews: Sealing the Deal

Even if they’re often nerve-wracking, interviews are a great platform to showcase who you are and what you’ve done
