EMBAs: IE Bi-weekly versus ESADE

daire

Hi all

I'm thinking of doing a EMBA in Spain. Wondering what are people's opinion of the Bi-weekly IXMBA program in IE - I have considered the Online version but am concerned that the netwrok interaction wouldn't be as strong and I want to take the time to be resident in Spain to learn spanish. However all discussions here seems to be on the online version.

Also question on ESADE's EMBA program - ESADE is a great school but the EMBA isn't in any of the FT EMBA rankings - is this an oversight or is it simply not any good?

Thanks
Dáire

ESADE is not in the EMBA ranking because it does not offer an EMBA program.

now I get to correct you, canica :)

It looks like ESADE does have an EMBA program:

And, it's ranked #1 in Europe by the Wall Street Journal, too, apparently :)

Also, I think both IE and ESADE have very good EMBA programs. Why not apply to both ... that way you only have to make the decision if you're accepted to both!

I believe both programs are in Madrid. Or, at least you CAN do the ESADE program at the executive education center in Madrid. IESE also has an EMBA program that you might want to look at. IESE also offers its program in both Madrid and Barcelona: http://www.iese.edu/en/MBAPrograms/Programs/executivemba/home/AdminisionProcess.asp

ESCP Europe, based in France, also has a Madrid campus where it offers an EMBA. It is supposed to be a very good program as well!

"ESCP's European Executive MBA ranks 19th (by January 2009) in the world and 7th in Europe in the current Financial Times ranking."

Lots of EMBA options in Madrid...

Thanks for the advice, have found out that ESADE EMBA is taught 80% in Spanish, so that would explain why it may not be in the FT rankings, and also unfortunately it rules it out for me.

Hmm.. why isn't Spanish an admission requirement then?
