Hi ,

I am an indian applicant with three years of work exp. I am planning to do an MBA from monash or Sydney business school. What are the job prospects post two year MBA from these universities. I heard that you get 2 year post study work visa? but are the employers willing to prefer indian students for jobs? what can be done to extend the 2 year work permit?

Monash would probably be stronger, given its accreditations.

Typically, graduates who have done two years of master's-level study in Australia can get a two-year long work visa after graduation. I am not sure if this can be extended; that's something you should ask an immigration attorney about.

Yes i am aware of the 2 year work permit after master's level study. But i am worried as i am indian and will the employers prefers international students and recruit me? Also i have just 3 years of work exp. and i have heard that Avg work exp in monash is 7. Do you think my work exp is going to be a disadvantage in fetching me jobs as it is on the lesser side?

Thank you

You will be a hard sell at Monash, considering the average work experience there is 7 years (including three years of managerial experience.) You'd have to have something else exceptional about your profile, plus a higher than average GMAT score.

Can i target jobs with my profile? As in can i search for jobs off campus and network with companies which match my profile with 3 yrs of work exp? Can i not target the lower level positions in that vertical and not any manager position?

I was talking about your profile to get into the MBA at Monash, not post-MBA job potential. For that kind of info, you should probably have a discussion with the school's career services department, in terms of what kinds qualities their recruiters look for when hiring international students.
