Hello All,
I'm a Lebanese with 6+ years professional experience in industrial automation and waste management. I hold a BSc in Mechanical Engineering (CPGA: 3.24/4) and a MSc in Mechatronics Engineering (CGPA: 3.36/4) + a Postgraduate Diploma in Project Management (CGPA: 3.61/4) - All from reputable institutions in Lebanon.
GMAT not taken yet but I will do my best to excel in it.
I'm interested in applying for a 2 years full time MBA program at a prestigious business school in Australia. Upon graduation, the program should allow me to apply for a 2 years post-study work permit (485 VISA). The long-term objectives are:
- Work and live in Australia
- Join a multinational company focused on automation, engineering, energy or renewables. Targets: GE, Alstom, Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens and others.
- Work in business development, consulting or production management.
Sadly, MBS and AGSM only offer 1-1.5 years MBA programs so that doesn't suit my plan.
1) Please recommend the best schools that offer a 2 year MBA program in Australia.
2) Are those schools well "connected" with industry and do they "guarantee" employability? (assuming high performance during studies).
3) Would you recommend alternative paths such as a Masters in International Business for the same purpose?
Many thanks for your support. I'm sure your replies will answer the questions of many from the Middle East!
Best,
2 years MBA @ Top Business School

Dear Ezra, Duncan and Ralph - appreciate your kind input on the above.

While there are schools like Monash that do offer two-year MBA programs, I doubt that any will give you the same kind of post-graduation career support and salary increase that the FT-ranked programs would provide, even if they're shorter.
As to your other question, nothing is guaranteed. The FT-ranked business schools will have better connections with employers, as well as more support for international students wishing to transition to the country.

Thanks for your feedback.
What about MGSM, University of Sydney and University of Technology Sydney?
Are they well connected with industry? If not with multinational firms, at least with regional ones?
Thanks

I'd say that they have a similar level of career support as the other non-ranked programs. Check with the schools.
