Hi,
Has anyone heard of this consortium called Univeritas 21 Global? Heard it's formed by 17 prestigious univerities all around the world. I am still considering if I should do my MBA with them.
Just some information about myself, I am a software engineer with about 3 years of working experience. I will most probably still be working while doing my mba program and so a full-time mba course is not an option for me. I need a program that is flexible with minimal impact on my job and most importantly, recognised in Singapore where I'm based at.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Hi Silvertype,
I am Benjamin and currently taking the MBA course at U21. The background of U21 is about the same as you said and I have taken about 11 courses already. As you know, the course is online, you download materials from the Internet, meet project members online, etc, so the schedule is relatively flexible, especially if your working schedule is very tight, this is one of the reasons I have decided to take this course. Another advantage is about the final exam, which you have 24-hours to complete once you downloaded the paper.
However, one of the problems of taking online course (probably is for me only) is about discipline, as I sometimes forgot to read course materials or participate in the discussion.
Other than that, I will say U21 is great and you can really "meet" people from all over the world!
Thanks,
Benjamin

----- "However, one of the problems of taking online course (probably is for me only) is about discipline" ------
this is certainly true also for other people - i think this is probably the biggest minus of online programs - one has to control himself alone, not having the "Frame work" to do it for him. take that, and the fact that most of the people tend to take it easy when they can, and you get to see the "danger" in such a concept.
----"and you can really "meet" people from all over the world!"-----
what do you mean by that? the people you meet online?
O.

Hmmmm...thanks for the info. However, my biggest concern is with the recognition of their MBA in global context. I am asking this question because a lot of the people I talked to said that employers do not usually fancy MBAs attained through distance learning programs. Not sure how true is that though.
