Hello,
I will be moving to Singapore with my family at the end of this year. I would like to do my MBA while I am there. Can anyone suggest a good MBA in Singapore?

Yes, there are a number of them. If you're looking at full time programs Nanyang and NUS offer world-class MBAs. Insead also offers an MBA out of its Singapore campus.

SMU also offers a well regarded MBA.

Ok but which is best for an accountant?

All of these are excellent options. If you want to to stay in accounting, Nus or NTU will be best.

Thank you so much!

Do you think doing an MBA at Insead (Singapore campus) can help with career networking in France?

Yes, Insead has a great network in France. However, if you want to work in France, why not study there? You'd get boots-on-the-ground experience in the place you want to work, and will be able to maximize your connections and the network-building resources while you're actually doing the program.

Thanks. Yes I'm actually "stuck" in Singapore for the next few years due to family commitments and I want to maximize the use of my time by doing an MBA. I intend to move to France in the long term (4-5 years from now.)

A grande ecole in Singapore, like ESSEC or Edhec, might be a better route into France. Insead just happens to be in France but isn't really very French or focussed on French employers.

What if I am targeting more globally oriented employers that are operating in France? (McKinsey, etc.)
Posted Nov 21, 2019 02:41
ESSEC's major partners like Estée Lauder, EDF, Louis Vuitton, etc are very globally oriented, as EDHEC's partners like Amadeus, Schneider Electric, Amazon, and Sanofi. I think Insead is a good option for American consulting companies in France, and for Amazon.

Thanks for the information.

What are the career prospects of an MBA in Singapore? I'm specifically talking about what will happen after Covid19.

Very good from the best schools, and poor from the bad schools.

That's good to hear, I am a bit concerned that there will be fewer jobs after all this is over and even less so for international MBA graduates.

I think there will also be fewer MBA graduates next year. It evens itself out. Plus, even if the situation is difficult, it's better to look for work with an MBA than without one.

Sorry I just saw your reply now. I think you are right, it makes sense. It's hard for me to know because I am not from Singapore. I have an admit for NUS and I was a bit skeptical but I am going to take it in any case.

A friend of mine at McKinsey in Singapore said that they are still hiring, although at a slower rate. It's not really clear what the personnel need will be one year out though.

Hey all - is Insead still better than NUS / NTU for a job in consulting?
