Can I do an MBA?

Shah12312

Hello!

I'm currently doing bachelors in Computer Science but I'm also interested in business. I wonder if it is possible for me to do an MBA after BCS (Bachelors in Computer science). If it is possible, what are the requirements & what kind of jobs can I expect with my BCS and MBA degrees?

Thank you whoever replies to the thread. :)

This depends on where you want to study and what your budget is, as well as what your goals are.

Where you want to Study: Canada (Probably in Toronto?)
What your budget is: Money is not a problem.
My goals: Becoming a Manager

'Becoming a manager' is quite a vague career goal. Do you have any work experience? If not, it might be helpful to get at least 2-3 years worth whilst you figure out your career goals. At that point an MBA might be a good investment and it would likely be a more rewarding experience.

Work experience is essential for an accredited MBA program. If you're looking at MBA programs in Toronto, Rotman and Schulich for instance, you'd need at least 4-6 years of work experience to be considered a competitive applicant for their full-time MBA programs.

If you don't have that kind of post-graduate work experience, you might consider a Master in Management program instead. Queen's has a ranked MiM program, and while not in Toronto, it's relatively close.

Agreed that "becoming a manager" is not really a substantial career goal. Your outcome with a Master in Management program, both in terms of seniority and salary, would be lower than with an MBA. That's just the nature of the degree and the fact that it's aimed at people without work experience.
